Lost Odyssey delayed to 2008 in US
Lorne Lanning! If you're reading this, be sure to note our continued frustration at typing "Oddysee" instead of "Odyssey" every single time we discuss Hironobu Sakaguchi's upcoming Xbox 360 RPG. The cumulative seconds wasted in correcting every article must surely extend beyond 2008 by now -- much like the English version of Lost Oddysee Odyssey. Confound it!
In Microsoft's pre-TGS conference held in Japan, Mr. Final Fantasy announced that his Unreal-powered tale of turn-based timelessness would be radically altering the meaning of "simultaneous worldwide release" to be more along the lines of "out in Japan on December 6th, then in North America in February 2008." Judging by the release schedule adopted by Mist Walker's most recent RPG, Blue Dragon, a European date for this Odyssey should be found on the same calendar page.

Oh well, his overly hyped Blue Dragon ended up being a bust... this doesnt look any more promising.
Purple Haze @ Sep 13th 2007 3:51AM
The most hyped thing about Blue Dragon I believe was the guy making the characters was the dragon ball z guy and the last time him, Nobuo and Hironobu made a game was Chrono Trigger. Also the most disapointing thing to most people I think was the characters so maybe it this will be different. Now most of thats probably not entirely true but from what I know it is.
Jake @ Sep 12th 2007 8:23AM
Oh well. Probably won't have time for it until next year anyways, I guess.

Who cares... makes me laugh that several of the games MS touted at E3 and making the whole show about what's coming out in 07 are delayed till 08 or later ha... I love the 360 but geeze how many more delays should we expect? I figured SC:Conviction would be delayed, heck I don't think Ubi has ever put a SC out when they said and waiting for Mass Effect to go delayed as well... or Ass Creed. And the little delays piss me off as well, skate till Fri, comon.

i see you've never heard about the playstation 3
Matt B @ Sep 12th 2007 9:48AM
PS3 delays = flamewars
360 delays = meh's and oh wells

I was just thinking that.
Vidikron @ Sep 12th 2007 1:12PM
Haha.. so true. Everyone jumps all over the PS3 with claims of programming difficulties and the like. Nothing of the sort when a 360 game is delayed.
Crono (NDF - Fire Ring) @ Sep 12th 2007 1:50PM
Thats because the 360 isn't struggling with a software library to keep its head above water.
Phranctoast @ Sep 12th 2007 9:56AM
Yet if it was a ps3 game getting delayed once again we can see 150 posts.
Badboy1979 @ Sep 12th 2007 10:02AM
The thing is with the 360 being in almost its 2nd year, it has a larger library of games than the PS3 right now... so naturally, a 360 game delay isn't suppose to "hurt" as much as a PS3 game delay (which has been quoted as lacking enough quality/quantity currently in the gaming department).
Phranctoast @ Sep 12th 2007 10:50AM
While I agree with you, that doesnt justify the 100 or so posts or so that can be summed up as....
"HAHAHAHAHAAH"
and
"POS3.....should have bought a 360...lol"
Does it?
HaleysComet @ Sep 12th 2007 11:47AM
Short Answer phr?
Yes...it does.
As for LO thats not why I bought my 360. I definitely got it for Eternal Sonata as well as Bioshock, Halo 3, GTA 4, Mass Effect, and Too Human. Plus plenty of other titles including Madden 08. So I'm pretty happy with my library as is. And one delay isn't going to kill me.
Also I'm thinking of getting skate this Friday since it seems to be way better than Tony Hawk.
Phranctoast @ Sep 12th 2007 12:10PM
so to make this entirely clear....
Since the 360 has been out for a year longer then the ps3, and therefore has a year worth more games, that makes it ok for 360 fans to be complete dickheads whenever a game gets delayed for the ps3.
I completely understand now.. Thanks for your reply.
Crono (NDF - Fire Ring) @ Sep 12th 2007 1:52PM
Seemed to be good enough reason for PS2 fanboys last gen.
Karma's a bitch, aint it?
jynxycat @ Sep 12th 2007 10:03AM
Figures. There's been so little released about this game, I don't see how anyone could expect it to be out this year.
Plus the website has listed a December date in Japanese for a long time now, believing we would get it on the same month is just silly.
JL @ Sep 12th 2007 10:09AM
We expected it to be out this year because Sakaguchi himself said that it would be a worldwide release. So naturally, Dec. 6 meant worldwide....until now.
robert @ Sep 12th 2007 11:20AM
where's all the "xbox 360... more like delaybox 360!" comments?
Matt B @ Sep 12th 2007 12:35PM
I held my tongue.
Mr Slavio @ Sep 12th 2007 12:33PM
Bummer. I was looking foward to this one. Thankfully Mass Effect is still there to pick up the slack.
vinny @ Sep 12th 2007 12:36PM
this saves me $60 until next year at least
Meatstiq @ Sep 12th 2007 6:51PM
Aw, I was looking forward to this, even though I probably wouldn't have played it much over Mass Effect.
popozao @ Sep 13th 2007 12:25AM
You know, I chuckle a little (just a little) every time some douche bag says that the 360 has more games than PS3. What does it matter? Any game you want to play WILL BREAK YOUR FUCKING SYSTEM INTO THE FAULTY CHUNK OF REDMOND WASHINGTON SHIT THAT IT IS! YOU CANT PLAY ANYTHING WITH YOUR LITTLE 3 RED LIGHTS BEAMING, LETTING YOU THINK "hey, dude, uh...I just fucking wasted 400 dollars..."
