National Video Games Day draws to a close ... how did you celebrate?
Maybe we should ask, did you celebrate at all? We would have ... if we knew what the heck this was. How many people around the U.S. even knew it was National Video Games Day? We can imagine that, had they known, there would have been much rejoicing, singing of songs, confetti cannons bursting, and festivities going on everywhere, but sadly gamers celebrated this day by doing what they do best ... playing games.Even more confusing is the fact that there are apparently not one, but two National Video Games Days. Apparently the other one is plain vanilla video game day, but this one is supposed to be the super triple-scoop with sprinkles National version. Maybe all of you were busy celebrating on July 8th, the other day. At least you have an excuse, but what about the rest of you? Someone needs to get on the ball and figure this out.
Adding confusing to more confusion, HolidayInsights.com says -- Our research did not find the creator, or the origin of this day. We found no information to help us to sort out why there are two different dates for this event. We did not find any documentation confirming this to be a "National" day. We found no congressional records or presidential proclamation.
So, it's got that going for it. Huzzah!

Daniel @ Sep 13th 2007 4:44AM
I'm not in the US, as many other people who celebrate it. That makes Winter-een-mas the "Week Long International Gamers Holiday". Win!
shaoron @ Sep 12th 2007 10:24PM

'Eh, who cares?
As long as the we remember that ITLAP is in just a few more days, the internets will be safe from total protonic reversal for yet another year.

The goverment is now so scared of video games that they've only told us this in the last hours of it!
Vegnagun @ Sep 12th 2007 10:35PM

My 360 died...again...for the 5th time...23 days after I got it back from the last repair.
Matt B (SDF - White Gold Ring) @ Sep 12th 2007 11:31PM
How many is too many? I'd trade it in on another system(non-360) at this point.
NPC Zack @ Sep 12th 2007 11:40PM
As long as I don't have to pay for any of them I'll keep grumbling along.
hvnlysoldr (NDF - Wind Ring) @ Sep 12th 2007 11:45PM
Bad things repeatedly happens to NPCs since they're not programmed with enough lines.
Matt B (SDF - White Gold Ring) @ Sep 12th 2007 11:32PM

AlanS17 @ Sep 13th 2007 5:47PM
I beat Resident Evil 4 on the Wii today! I didn't know it was NVGD, though.
Ratchet the Lombax @ Sep 12th 2007 11:52PM
I didn't even know it existed, and the funny thing is I didn't even play any video games today. But then again there have been times where I've went almost two weeks without playing any video games.
pha7e @ Sep 13th 2007 2:26AM
Same here and today is like the first time in a month that I haven't played.
Backslash @ Sep 12th 2007 11:54PM
It was National Video Games Day?
CountChocula @ Sep 13th 2007 12:33AM
I celebrated by overdosing on Kingdom Hearts. I've never played it before and it looked interesting, so I borrowed it from a friend and started today. 7 hours later, I took a break to realize that it was midnight. *sigh* A day well spent.
vgxtremist @ Sep 13th 2007 1:05AM
