Maybe we should ask, did you celebrate at all? We would have ... if we knew what the heck this was. How many people around the U.S. even knew it was National Video Games Day? We can imagine that, had they known, there would have been much rejoicing, singing of songs, confetti cannons bursting, and festivities going on everywhere, but sadly gamers celebrated this day by doing what they do best ... playing games.Even more confusing is the fact that there are apparently not one, but two National Video Games Days. Apparently the other one is plain vanilla video game day, but this one is supposed to be the super triple-scoop with sprinkles National version. Maybe all of you were busy celebrating on July 8th, the other day. At least you have an excuse, but what about the rest of you? Someone needs to get on the ball and figure this out.
Adding confusing to more confusion, HolidayInsights.com says -- Our research did not find the creator, or the origin of this day. We found no information to help us to sort out why there are two different dates for this event. We did not find any documentation confirming this to be a "National" day. We found no congressional records or presidential proclamation.
So, it's got that going for it. Huzzah!
