There is a slight difference between publishing a game and buying exclusivity. Buying exclusivity is handing them a check and standing back. Publishing the game is much more involved. You need to support the dev with resources, market the game, handle distribution, etc.

Great, now that September is here and Halo 3 will be out in two weeks I can start waiting impatiently all over again.

Exclusive means so little these days. Timed exclusive probably, or even Ninja Gaiden 2 Black for PS3. Oh joy. 360 gets it first is really what it means... if the PS3 install base has grown by then, expect a PS3 version of the game w/ "additional features"

This will be a great game no doubt....but really... what does it have to do with the PS3 at all?

Yeah they got sigma, good game, cool, whatever. But at the end of the day did anyone think ANY team ninja game wouldnt be on the 360? i mean they've been basically xbox supporters from the start...so other than the surprise of sigma...does this surprise...anyone?

This is almost like trumping up the Wii because mario isnt going to another console or something of the nature (not that extreme mind you, but this companies games have pretty much been MS exclusive for the last several years)

Nah not angry... I guess I'm getting a bit tired of unwarranted hatred/bitterness towards those who own one console and not another. Wouldn't you agree that it's a bit childish (of course... joystiq is not the haven of mature gamers)? WoW this is amazing and sad, well me being a God of War Fanboy and was bouncing off the walls when I found out that they finally started production for God Of War 3 I didn't have the need to come in here screaming "take that 360 bots"....and please the term "exclusive" have lost all meaning this generation....Devil May Cry 4 anyone?...that game was "exclusive" for like a whole year and out of the blue, 2 in the morning is some Japaneses game conference it was announce mulit-platform, My point is that I wouldn't put to much weight on any developer saying something is "exclusive"...if you haven't notice pretty much the whole game industry has been playing with around with us

I desperately want to buy a ps3..why?..well I said this earlier because of God of War 3, I know its one game but hey, I am a God of War (game) Fanboy...so yeah I am often scanning any related news about the ps3 hoping it would lower its price or something so that I could buy one..that is the reason why the ps3 has alot of my attention ...but for those who claim they will never buy one, why the hell is the ps3 constantly getting your attention?....why must any news no matter whether it be good or bad news, be reduce to ps3 bashing?..

Now don't flame me or whatever, but to be honest I think the only ones who bring up RROD are......the 360 owners....no fanboyism there....just yesterday some 360 owner was on a ps3 game thread saying he just got the rrod but still have no reason to buy a ps3(why was he on a ps3 thread if he had no reason to buy a ps3 is beyond me)....you see I have no reason to be upset or bring up the rrod for I don't own a 360 and yes I desperately want to, so the only ones keep bringing up the rrod are the 360 owners for they are the only ones to experience it, well we should blamed Microsoft, but seeing as how we don't like to put blame where blame is due (except sony of course), we instead blame our fellow gamers

again, the rrod is not something "Sony Bots" pull out of their ass, its something the 360 community brings up....I mean how the hell can anyone still call it fanboyism when Microsoft just spent over a billion dollars to cover the rrod issue

Sony said, for two generations straight "what problem? there is no problem".

PS2 and PS1 failure rates were just as high as 360 failure rates. The difference is in how the companies handle it.

I don't blame anyone for being a Sony hater right now. They are the only company I know of that blatantly lies to and cheats their own consumers on a regular basis. Microsoft may do some evil things, but they do them to OTHER COMPANIES. Not to their consumers.

Are you stupid? A 3 year warranty is a cover-up? ITS A SOLUTION. Sony never even admitted they had a problem, let alone try to make right by it. They were too busy installing rootkits on your PC.

What made Sony, a company that 'won' two generations by having the weakest-most-breakable-console on the market, think that they would win this one with a reliable-most-power-on-the-market-machine?

As a completely unbiased opinion (considering that I own both systems)...

I must say, M$ is truly doing a great job with game gobbling and obtaining those exclusives. But that doesnt change the fact that the PS3 has a HUGE PS2 catalog to try out... and doesnt RroD on me every stinkin 3 months. I've had to send back my Xbox360 4 times already since its purchase 1 year ago. I am tired of it freezing mid game... tired of it dieing on me with RroD... and tired of getting another piece of crap from M$ in the mail, 4 weeks later.

Sincerely, if only for the fact that it DOESN'T BREAK... I'm happy with my PS3. In PS2 games alone (those that came out recently, I mean) I am back-logged for months! Not even counting the new games coming out in the months past and those approaching december.

So all you people laughing at PS3 and such, just remember... doesn't matter if you have the best exclusives in the world, when 60% of your gaming fan base has their Xboxes in transit for a 5th or 6th repair for months at a time.

A few things:
To Myke who loves to bash the failure rate of the 360, which I agree was a problem that has been suitably addressed by MS, what about the ps2? I seem to remember a class action lawsuit is what it took to get Sony to address the 'disc read error' problem.

The 360 is simply drowning in good content, not to mention xblive which is ridiculously superior to the bare bones ps network. I'll get a ps3 when the price drops and the library grows. I can wait for MGS on the 360 so until there is an exclusive worth buying the system for, I'll get more 360 (and wii) games
