Pink and blue Xbox 360 controllers coming in November ... or October

You might have heard by now that Microsoft announced a date for the *gasp* new pink and blue Xbox 360 controllers that we saw at E3. Well, here are even more photos of the pastel playthings for you to gawk at. Unfortunately the women holding the controllers don't come with them.
Even more unfortunately, when is this color madness going to stop? You've got the original Xbox 360 in eggshell white, the ebony Elite, the military green Halo 3 model (with multi-colored and graphic-ed controllers as well) ... so where will it all end? A color-changing mood 360? Heat-sensitive, thermal transfer model? Maybe a clear version. Or better yet, the invisible-I-swear-it's-around-here-somewhere-just-listen-for-the-loud-fan-and-feel-for-the-radiator-like-warmth version.
At any rate, we digress. Check out the pictures (courtesy of Engadget Japan) of the pink and blue Xbox 360 controllers, and pre-order some for your boy, or girl, today.
[Update: According to Xbox.com, the pink and darker blue controllers are hitting the US on October 2nd. If you've really got your heart set on that baby blue controller (it'll match our Ice Blue DS Lite!) you can pick one up in Japan on November 1.]

colin @ Sep 12th 2007 6:50AM
you racist, you can't say colored anymore.
hvnlysoldr (NDF - Wind Ring) @ Sep 12th 2007 11:54AM
Unless you are colored.
Ratchet the Lombax @ Sep 12th 2007 5:20PM
Yea the politically correct term is "chromatically enhanced".
hegemonyhog @ Sep 12th 2007 5:07AM
1953 called - they'd like their industrial design back.
Ratchet the Lombax @ Sep 12th 2007 5:14AM
These colors seem to be very popular in Japan for some reason, just look t the DS and PSP. Let's just hope they don't start making "harvest gold" and "avocado green" to match our 1970s' appliances. Although the girl holding the blue one is very cute :)
vern @ Sep 12th 2007 5:10AM
ZMOG !
I got to go to Japan RIGHT NOW.
BRB guys.
mike @ Sep 12th 2007 5:31AM
here in N.A., we do not get that blue controller. Ours is a bit darker of a shade of blue (for the better)
Ted @ Sep 12th 2007 5:34AM
If I could get the actual xbox in the blue color I'd buy the controller with it. Otherwise it wouldn't match with my white one :(
Other than that... I think the blue is pretty cool, and I don't mind the availability of different colors.
"You can get the model T in any color -- so long as it's black" Henry Ford
Anticrawl @ Sep 12th 2007 6:15AM
That Ford, such a joker. +1908 internets for you (hahaha, historical figures)
Poisoned Al @ Sep 12th 2007 7:26AM
Actually, Henry Ford never said that. He was a evil, raciest, Nazi collaborating bastard, so you don't really want to quote him too much anyway.
Ted @ Sep 12th 2007 8:28AM
I guess you're right... Looked it up and he actually said: "Any customer can have a car painted any color that he wants so long as it is black"...
It's from his autobiography.
Poisoned Al @ Sep 12th 2007 1:24PM
Heh, I was told he never said it at all. Seeing how the modle T was in a number of colours it seemed valid to me. Meh, not that it matters. He was still a evil dick tho.
Abuzar @ Sep 12th 2007 4:36PM
Oh yes a very evil man. I mean how could he provide higher jobs wages, and how dare he become one of the first people in America to give benefits to employees! That kind of behavior must be stopped. Fear not citizens the communists are here to save the day!
/Sarcasm
Ted @ Sep 12th 2007 4:45PM
@ Poisoned Al...
Initially the Model T was available in other colors, but eventually they adopted mass production techniques which required the use of black paint as it was the fastest drying paint available.
Kazi @ Sep 12th 2007 6:11AM
Microsoft beat Nintendo to Multicolors. How could this have happened? WHERE'S MY GREEN WII NINTENDO. XBot needs some more green too.
Kazi @ Sep 12th 2007 6:12AM
The XBot was a typo, I swear.
Poisoned Al @ Sep 12th 2007 1:30PM
Freudian slip? ;)
MosquitoControl @ Sep 12th 2007 7:24AM
Yeah, not worth mocking. We all know the Japanese tend to go for this stuff. And, if you think, so do Americans. Multicolored DSs? Multicolored PSPs? Multicolored iPod Nanos and Zunes? Let's not forget that the N64 and Gamecube both launched with a choice of colors for the controllers, and with the Gamecube for the system itself.
Scaught @ Sep 12th 2007 8:15AM
So, everytime a new product is unveiled in Japan, there is an uber hot girl showing the product off. What a flippin' amazing country.
rockintom @ Sep 12th 2007 8:46AM
Man, a heat-sensitive 360 would be *awesome*. It would be deep blue when it is turned off, and the longer it runs, the more red it gets.
It would also be a nice red-ring warning. ;)
jynxycat @ Sep 12th 2007 10:05AM
Releasing multiple colored systems means nothing when you put it up against Nintendo's track history.
I can't even begin to count how many GBC/GBP/GBM/GBA/Sp/DS/DSlite colors/"special editions" there have been.
vinny @ Sep 12th 2007 10:11AM
id def buy a heat sensitive color changing controller
daniel @ Sep 12th 2007 10:21AM
i saw these on playasia yesterday listed as october 11th release
blooh @ Sep 12th 2007 11:37AM
cool colors, too bad new controllers are like 50 bucks
Amos @ Sep 12th 2007 11:49AM
Um, maybe it'll end when we actually get a decent fucking selection of controller colors. Yes, I'd rather play with a smooth blue than iShite white, if the price is the same.
Minor Concerto @ Sep 12th 2007 12:08PM
OMG Thanks a ton for the idea joystiq! I'm going to get to that mood color changing 360 right away!!!
Anticrawl @ Sep 12th 2007 12:57PM
Yeah, I have 5 controllers as it is now, so I'll just mod one or all of mine if I ever get /that/ bored of the way they look. If you want to know why 5, well I just got a wired cause it's more comfortable to play with, use the wireless when I have company though, friends are stupid and like to rip the cords out when they're loosing.
Anticrawl @ Sep 12th 2007 12:59PM
Dear god, I meant losing.
