Today's most sacrilegious video: Halo 3 on PS3

Although we guarantee it'd move units faster than Covenant troops flee a grenade, the embedded video is not a hint at Master Chief's adventures moving to the PlayStation 3. However, it does feel a bit wrong to see Halo 3 footage shown on its competitor's kiosk right above its "this is living" slogan, reportedly in a Blockbuster. This is wrong. This is pretty funny. This is going to confuse the uninformed gamer who got excited for the game via its Time Magazine story and thinks he can play it on a PS3.

Think about it...it makes sense. Halo 3 is the biggest game coming out this November and in the near future.
So hell...if you can't beat 'em, join 'em. Why the hell NOT "accidentally" show some Halo 3 footage on a PS3 and "accidentally" mislead some naive consumers that it is coming out on PS3 too. That might sell some units...some. And if they get called on it, they can just say it was an isolated mistake...sure it was *wink wink*.

Of course I'm just being facetious, but this is pretty funny.

Remember earlier this year Sony using PGR3 screens on ads for GT..

So yeah I can see Sony providing a Video disc to Blockbuster, and OOPs it had a Halo3 video on it..

No. I could replicate this video at work tommorrow with Halo or any other exclusive game for that matter. Hell at the gamestop I work at I use a PS2 to roll a DVD that I made of game trailers, most of which are 360 games. This is no different. In most big box stores like Best Buy the PS3 kiosks are owned and operated by Sony, but since there are so many gamestop stores, gamestop actually purchased and operates the PS3 kiosks within their stores. I have a key to it, I could do this all day and there's nothing anyone could do about it on MS' end.

I actually find this to be more of a slap in the face to Sony than it is MS, as a PS3 is being used to promote a game on 360.

I don't know what's so funny about it, it's just a trailer, a video. They probably decided to put the DVD into a PS3 when their xbox died in a glories death from RROD.

after all, where else are you going to play a DVD other than the winner of Media centre? ;)

This is just showing how well ps3 plays movies, it is after all the best media player. I mean not like there are any games to show on it. I love how mine sits unused in the intertainment center until something comes out to watch on blu-ray, then it gets 2 hours of use, then goes back to sitting there.

The funniest spin on the whole episode comes from The Sony Defense Force, insisting it's a ploy by Microsoft marketing to sell Halo off the back of the PS3. :)
