Updated to 1.93 and now can't connect to the PSN. Seems the firmware update has flip-flopped the network problem and people who didn't have a problem with 1.92 now have a problem with 1.93. According to forums I'm not the only one.

Have you tried resetting your internet? That solves 95% of connection problems for any internet connection.
Disconnect the power from the modem and if you have one the router. Then turn off your PS3 and disconnect the power. Turn back on the Router and or the modem, wait for the green lites, then turn back on the PS3.

I am entitled to post my experience. You don't even have a PS3, or you do but hate it and everything that goes with it with the way you comment about it. The first post said he had an issue and I feel for him, but you called it a fiasco which it is not!

No i dont own a ps3 but with problems of not updating stats for warhawk, and getting cut from a game, people not being able too even connect after 1.92 update cripples their connection are some of the reasons I dont own one....fiasco comes too mind. I asked this guy for a link too the 1.93 problems and its not hard too figure out he was bullshitting..but when someone like you comes on and whines "dont call it a fiasco", it's just PR bullshit on a failing machine.

You're such a dumbass. What other issues with firmware updates are you aware of? Seriously, we're talking about a network issue that popped up just a few days ago with 1.92 and was attempted to be fixed in 1.93. And this issue hasn't even affected everyone. How is this a "fiasco" by any standard? The only person full of BS around here is you... well, there are others, but you're definitely among them.

Well the last time I checked they didn't have to do them at all, so why complain?

that was a pretty decent weekly update. I don't think I ever seen 4 demos in one week.
keep on hating though. your profile shows your biased opinion as well.

hows that RROD treating you? Over at Kotaku Bashcraft's "fixed" 360 lasted all of 5 MINUTES.
Go ahead and flame, a year from now, with the PS3's AAA heavy hitters out, a FREE Home, and FREE online play, how will that $60 a year for a system that works 2/3rds of the time look 2 you then?

Zaphod, I'm just wondering, do you have a 360? I have one and even though there is a ton of RRoD stories, I've only got RRoD once (True story, I knocked the 360 off my dresser and it worked after that). 360 may be a pretty poorly build system, but it's games are great.

It depends, how many of those "AAA heavy hitters" will be multiplatform? Most of them will, IMO. How much will you be able to do in the "FREE" Home, because Sony seems to be setting it up to be the ultimate micro-transaction store for them. And Xbox live is only $50 a year, even less if you get those pre-paid cards.

@ SKI
You do realize that Xbox Live is also the ultimate micro-transaction paradise for M$...they just make you pay 50+ a year to have the privilege to pay them more.

Venagun,
No I do not. I have had the PS, PS2, and now the PS3. For me, the Playstations have or will have the games I want not to metion the most diverse, largest gaming library. I do not have the time to invest in more than 1 system.
I do have friends with 360's. Only 1 of them out of 7+ has not had any problems. He has a launch 360 and tells me that he is paranoid that it will crap out on him. I joke with him about it and tell him that it is waiting for Halo3 to go belly up. He also tells me that the PS3 online games are silky smooth compared to some of the Live games he plays. He loves Warhawk.

Zaphod save it man. every chance people get they throw out rrod - My gf and I each have a 360 right now and neither have had the problem (Nor have my 10 or so friends with one).
Why don't you find a new point to drive at people when you feel desperate to attack a console. Always assuming everyone has a 360 issue is pretty old hat.

Well good luck on you and your friends sir. As my fifth 360 can attest, your fraction of the world doesn't represent the whole. I never had issues with PS2 or PSX but I'll be damned if I tell someone who did have problems that the issues don't exist and that it's all some big overblown fanboy quest to discredit the opposition. After all, it's far too well documented and the fact that Microsoft has thrown out hush money on five class action lawsuits so far over the RROD, I have to take RROD as common as the DREs, if not moreso. After all, it's only a 5% defect rate before most companies order a recall. Considering MS is very quiet about their numbers....

I don't usually read PS3 comments. So they're normally full of 360 trolls and PS3 people constantly bringing up RROD?

Re-read your comments sir. That kind of polarizing talk doesn't really help if you object to it. Don't be a part of the problem if you want a solution.

I love how you don't own one yourself, and despite 90% of PS3 owners saying they aren't bored with the console you make a statement like that.
I think 360 owners are the bored ones, seeing as how their have all that empty space waiting for their systems to be returned. (only to turn it back later)

Well I had a 360 that died, and now I have a PS3 that makes me very happy. As for the new updates on the PSN, I think it's great. For the last 3 weeks we have been getting a lot of new content. This week for me, I will be adding High Stake Poker to my library of games. I love not having to load a disc to play.

i just bought my PS3 last week, and I haven't gotten bored with it yet. I'm not particularly bias against one system or the other, i just went with what i felt was the best investment.
as for the update, i'll add the poker game when i get some more funds. looks pretty cool. that racing game is pretty silly though. Waiting for THPG to finish and I can't wait.
oh, and the system update completely fixed my PSN errors. yhey.

This update is off the chain! I didn't have problems before the firmware update and have no problems after installing the latest firmware update.
Pixelracers is a definite purchase. Ahhhh; all these demo's; it's gonna be a great weekend!
