Project Gotham Racing 4 goes gold
Bizarre Creations has hit Ctrl+S for the last time on Project Gotham Racing 4 and has duly sent the code off to be pressed onto millions of DVDs -- which is an absolutely marvelous format, we're told. If driving through rain or snow at ludicrous speeds is something you find appealing, you'd best start checking stores October 2nd in the US and Oct 12th in Europe. If not, ordering online is by far the safer option.
If you just plain don't want the game (nor Geometry Wars: Waves), then you should have stopped reading three sentences ago. And you especially shouldn't read this sentence, which mentions the game's official website and a full list of its virtual vehicles.

Really... Are they sure... That was pretty Quick
Jonah Falcon @ Sep 13th 2007 6:59PM
Geometry Wars: Waves goes gold. Oh, and it comes with PGR4.
Stupidiot @ Sep 13th 2007 7:24PM
The last gameplay video I saw of PGR4 didn't look particularly impressive, but I'm tempted to get this game just for Geometry wars, and the Caparo T1 (pure pwnage!). Ah well, I'll wait for the demo to make my mind up.
Spartacus @ Sep 13th 2007 7:36PM
I absolutely loved PGR3, but I'll probably be a bit busy with a little game called Halo to pick this up on launch day... But it will definitely be purchased later in the month. PGR is the best blend of sim and arcade racing I've found, which makes it the most enjoyable racer I played since Top Gear on NES and Cruis'n USA on the N64. Throw in motorcycles and you've got yourself a sweet game. I couldn't get into Moto GP games- as much as I wanted to...
Word of the street. @ Sep 13th 2007 7:48PM
OMG are you telling me you never played Daytona USA?!
Word of the street. @ Sep 13th 2007 7:46PM
Don't read the sentences below,Don't read the sentences below,Don't read the sentences below,Arrgggg...I read them.
(It was a reference to Yu-gi-oh The abridged Movie)
I want to buy it but I would probably play it like 3 days and then go back to Halo 3.
rockintom @ Sep 14th 2007 9:52AM
If you have to explain what you are referencing, you fail.
...You would have failed, of course, for referencing Yu-Gi-Oh anyway.
Blue_Falcon @ Sep 13th 2007 7:52PM
And then they'll soon announce GW: Waves will be released stand-alone from PGR4!
No? OK, a guy can hope. :(
Vegnagun @ Sep 13th 2007 7:56PM
A man can dream can't he? A man can dream.
CGamble20 @ Sep 13th 2007 8:14PM
GT5>PGR4
but they are both great.
ExMcloud @ Sep 13th 2007 8:19PM
I will take GT5 over PGR4 to but I also like the PGR+Forza Combo over GT you get 2 different driving experiences..
HaleysComet @ Sep 13th 2007 8:24PM
I just don't see whats so special about GT5.
It looks pretty. Thats about it. Nothing to get excited about though.
I mean both games are the same TYPE of game right (racing sim I believe). However GT5 apparently looks like top of the line stuff. But that still doesn't convince me it will be more fun or a better experience just cuz the graphics are great.
lostprophet @ Sep 14th 2007 1:35AM
Actually PGR 4 is more arcade then a racing sim. That is what makes it so good, it's different to Forza and GT.
CGamble20 @ Sep 14th 2007 5:02PM
@lostplanet
yeah your right actually, PGR4 shouldnt be compared.
Well then GT5>Forza, and they are all great (PGR4 included)
ExMcloud @ Sep 13th 2007 8:20PM
You are correct sir
James @ Sep 13th 2007 9:34PM
If 360 dev kits are just G5 PowerMacs then wouldn't it actually be apple/clover+S?
embassy @ Sep 13th 2007 10:33PM
PGR is not a sim franchise...at all..thats forza's job.
MYPS3KilledMy360 @ Sep 14th 2007 12:14AM
even forza is slightly arcadey and there is a cockpit in GT5. GT is fun for some peopple actually being able to control a car like its suppose instead of using a ridculous power slide like in some games to me seems fun kinda like Rainbow Six when 2 bullets can kill you i dont like when people sugar coat stuff i like it as raw an realistic as possible when it comes to some games(this is why i dont play anything but SWAT on halo 2.
Andoru @ Sep 13th 2007 10:34PM
Yes, but PGR has that sexy cockpit view. Even Forza doesn't have that! Does GT? I wouldn't know because I don't play on Sony systems.
colin @ Sep 13th 2007 11:35PM
this is off topic, but if you go to unreal tournament 3's website, the only character standing in the center of the screen is none other than marcus fenix.
/off topicness
Word of the street. @ Sep 14th 2007 1:36AM
Is not Marcus,He looks like Marcus but is other guy.
embassy @ Sep 14th 2007 12:41AM
how can u consider forza "slightly arcadey" compared to GT, a game in which u can powerslide around any corner? and gt has zero damage modeling. that doesnt really scream "simulation" to me.
Word of the street. @ Sep 14th 2007 1:42AM
Actually GT5 will have Damage modeling after all but just the Blu-ray version.
http://digg.com/playstation_3/GT5_Features_damage_modelling_only_on_blu_ray_version
Forza 2 well is hard to describe, In my experience is the perfect Mix between an arcade game and a Racing sim.
sheppy2.0 @ Sep 14th 2007 8:38AM
Ummm, I drifted all over Forza 2. And for me, Forza 2 was one of the funnest of the sim games for me, but just because it didn't ACT like a sim. The thing that annoyed me eventually was the fact that you couldn't actually listen to that top notch soundtrack in game, only in menus.
In GT, I just get annoyed. Cars handle like boats in that game and the license system is pure ass.
Of course here comes the groans, my two favorite racing franchises are Ridge Racer and Burnout (But I'm getting a bit burned out on burnout).
Game Artist @ Sep 14th 2007 11:46AM
I need to go read some reviews. I really liked the first 2 PGR. I didnt care much for 3 with its only supercar setup. If I want to race an econobox, I should be able to.
Squirrel3D @ Sep 14th 2007 10:01PM
I never played Daytona USA ether.
