Niagara Falls? For suckers. Having a plane write it in the sky? Boring. On the Jumbotron at a World Series of Video Games event? Sadly impossible. There's officially only one cool way now to propose to that special someone: Through Viva Piñata. Unfortunately, user PINATAcast on the official Viva Piñata forums just beat you to it.
We've seen video games and matrimony tied up before obviously, but this has to be one of our favorite combos. In one sense, it's metaphorical, as marriage is really all about figuratively smashing your partner to bits and eating the delicious candy inside them. (Just kidding, sweetie!) Perhaps Rare Community Manager George Kelion said it better in an email to us: "It's not quite as extensive as a full-on WoW wedding, but personally we think it's a bit more romantic (less chance of a drunken dwarf brawl ruining the atmosphere, for one thing)."
Good luck, you crazy piñata farming kids.

At http://classicnesseries.com/ in the "Game Stories" section, the excitebike story marks a proposal even better than this one.

WSVG announced dead mere hours ago and already we're dragging its corpse through the mud? Well played, McElroy.

I did a little research Jack, and that is, in fact, "how I roll."

How pathetic is that?? This is what it should read...
"Honey, you know I am a man that plays a very childish game, and that I obviously am a loser, so why not be a loser with me?"

With an attitude like that, I'm guessing you are unmarried. Surprise and sentiment are key ingredients in any memorable proposal. And I think it is probable that she plays too.

Wow! Tough crowd. I think Rare games represent quality. (For the most part.) Even Pinata ones. And even though the game itself was more specifically marketed to kids, the gameplay was actually enjoyed by quite a few adults. Myself included. I don't see anything wrong with this.

I thought it was stupid at first, then I read the whole post.
"When she got it (Across the room on the other TV) she giggled and said i was silly. Then i pulled out the real deal, got on a knee and started getting cried upon. She said yes, so next spring we are getting married! Just wanted to shared."

So you're not a kid and yet you use the word ¨addicting¨.

@ James
Really what is wrong with using the word addicting. I defintely have played some games that I would consider at least semi-"addicting" throughout the years and you probably have so too.
(ad·dic·tion) ([schwa]-dik¢sh[schwa]n) 1. the state of being given up to some habit or compulsion.

I thought this was cute until I realized that they were both playing in the same room on different TVs. Now I'm just sitting here, shaking my head.
Well, at least it's not as ghey as WoWeddings...

So you rather he proposes from two separate locations and they meet up hours later? The point is to be together. It would be retarded if he proposed over the internet. It was cute at first and she didn't think he was serious until he walked over and got on one knee.

Every woman is different, you would be surprised how a seemily small gesture or "cute" act is recieved depending on the situation and person.
If you have a steady gf or wife you should know this to be true. (And if you don't here's some advice: pay attention to the little things, they can pay off big.)

I created a series of WoW in-game quests that led up to my wife driving over to my apartment to have me translate a message (which was "will you marry me?" when seen by an alliance talking to a horde).
To top it off, at the wedding my grooms cake was in the shape of a computer. On the "monitor" of the computer cake was an edible print out of the horde banner.
We're still married and we both still play WoW :).

1st off, i would like to say that, I , am indeed the guy whom you are all talking about. Secondly, thank you everyone for your support.
...and for the 27 year old virgins still living in mommies basement, feel free to keep you 1/2 @ssed comments to yourself.
For those people caught up on there being TWO 360s in the family room, Viva pinata is a multiplayer game, but you cannot have more than 1 person per 360. SO! if you want to play V.P. with a friend or loved one, a LAN setup is how you have to go. If playing videogames in the same room with people is such a BAD THING... Then why the hell do they make the 360 work with 4 controllers?
For those who think VP is dead... or only for kids.. tell that to the thousands of adult members @ pinataisland.info
Jenn (poetic Sunrise) LOVES viva. She also LOVES uniqueness and originality. What better way to please her than to Propose to her in a way no one else ever has before? Again thanks for your support.

To be completely honest I don't get why people would bash it. I must admit at first I thought it was an odd way to get married, but I read your whole post. That's a unique way to do it, I can't lie.
As for VP, I haven't played it myself. I've heard it's great though.
