Japanese hardware sales, Sept. 3 - Sept. 9: pre-TGS edition

The fact that "TGS" doesn't stand for "Terrific Gourmet Sandwich" is likely just as disappointing for you as it is for us. In our preparations for next week's Tokyo Game Show, we simply haven't found the time to waste on trivial matters such as eating, bathing or maintaining the fine balance between being witty and being obnoxious. We're already packing our bags, charging our numerous portable gaming systems and figuring out how best to phrase the question, "Why isn't your game Ninja Gaiden 2?"

Oh, and we also plan to do something about all these soul-crushingly grim red arrows. We'll show them.

Well, so far my spending in order has been..

Nintendo DS
Xbox 360
Nintendo Wii
Sony PSP (PSP 2000 'launch')

I have been patiently waiting for the price to drop on the PS3 before I buy one and it looks like it is going to pay off (see rumored PS3 400 dollar price tag).

I finally broke down and bought the PSP because it has had enough time to mature and get some good games out. It's hardware was slightly modified and improved, which was what I was waiting for.

Can't say that I'm really a fanboy of any one particular console, but I do enjoy all the systems I have so far.

I am really surprised (well not completely surprised) that the price drop happened before more games came out for the PS3. I know I was waiting for the price to drop, but I might even wait a tad bit longer possibly for more games come out for it.

As much as everyone (or most people) seems to despise Sony, they have generally made decent hardware and have good games for it in due time (FF series, etc). When you think about it, PS3 is more than likely going to be the JRPG/RPG hardware of choice due to it's disc capacity and Sony 'history'.

OMG! Japanese buy their systems, that's odd. The real reason why they show Japanese charts is cuz Americans don't buy their systems, instead they steal from or kill each other for them. The True American Way!

Are you guys planning a Joystiq meetup after/during TGS?

Here's where my money has gone:
1. Wii x2, 10+ games.
2. DS, 10+ games.
3. XBOX360, 5 games.
4. PS3, 0 (ZERO) games. (Only playing GT HD, most other games don't even impress me except maybe Ninja Gaiden Sigma).
