In a painful to watch video by anyone with an iota of video production training, the Mercury News interviewed Nintendo's Reggie Fils-Aime about the Wii supply for this holiday season. Fils-Aime says, "Wii hardware that will be in North American stores will be unprecedented – substantially more than the launch, substantially more than has been seen to date." Yes Nintendo, keep diverting those precious Wiis our way.
Then Fils-Aime rains on the parade saying that despite the extra supply, consumers should "regularly check" to see if the system is available. He says demand continues to outweigh supply, so those in need of Wii should be waiting at the store when the product arrives. As for the competition, Reggie dismisses Xbox and PS3 saying they haven't impacted their business. If you have no video training whatsoever feel free to watch the Mercury News clip and soak in the Reggieness.

I don't believe anything him or Perrin say anymore. First, Perrin promises the Wii will be region-free, then she says component cables will be in stores at launch; neither of which were true.
Then there's Reggie. He completely lied about there not being a game drought this generation and now he expects us to trust him again?
I'm calling bs.

If you're down with the VC, there's never been a game drought. It has 143 games and counting. And good games are coming out. How many amazing AAA games do you need per year to be happy?

You're right about that dix Perrin, but Reggie has been pretty on with his statements. Regarding the drought the rivers may not have been flowing but personally I feel that there was at least a constant of stream of games (VC included).

This holiday season its going to be mad. If you are planning in giving a Wii this Christmas, start searching one now.
With Mario Galaxy and Smah Bros released, its going to be one of the hardest oddiseys to get a Wii in December.

You are foolish to call BS. Nintendo more than anything is a company, a company who likes profit. Wii is profitable console and popular. Its in the interest of Nintendo to sell and make more consoles. DEMAND HAS BEEN UNQUENCHED not supply problems. Nobody could of expected that less than a year 9million Wii's sold worldwide, thats not stupid supply problems thats demand being overwhelming.
Just imagine wii sales in November and December both be 1 million per month. That is possible!

Handy tips for getting your Wii:
1. Most stores get thier shipments in the morning and put them out at noon. Wal-mart and Toys-R-Us usually will have them out by 1 or 2 o'clock. If you go straight to the "electronics" case up front in Toys-R-Us they will have them displayed before they take the tickets to the gaming section.
2. Bestbuy usually gets a shipment in and puts a few out at a time daily. In my area they get like 50 in, put out 5 a day then save the rest for Sunday to run concurrent with thier ad. The ones put out daily are out by 2 pm.
3. Put your friends on the case. During my lunch break I run to Wal-mart and Toys-R-Us to see what's new. I have purchased 8 Wii's for people looking for them and they reimbursed me when they received thiers. Most stores won't let you get more than one, but if they do, get seperate receipts.
That's all I can think of, if I missed anything let me know.

It's quite possibly the best sci-fi movie of all time. It's at least up there at the top giving Bladerunner and its ilk a run for their money. Besides, the sandworms in Dune are 10 times more badass than the ones in Beetlejuice. Muadeeb, bitches.

I agree with Rubang. Dune rocks and I can't believe none of you have seen it or read the books even. I'm waiting for them to release the an extended version on DVD that doesn't suck ass.
And FYI David Lynch turned down the opportunity to direct The Empire Strikes Back because he wanted to make Dune.

The Wii's popularity sprung once it was found out that it was THE MP3 player to have.
It plays Metroid Prime 3, therefore it is an MP3 player.
Metroid Prime 3
Zelda Twilight Princess
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Super Mario Galaxy
Fire Emblem
Battalion Wars II
Super Paper Mario
WarioWare
ExciteTruck
Resident Evil 4 Wii
Zack & Wiki
No More Heroes
Nintendo's Greatest Hits via the VC
Some of you guys might not like all of the games on this list, but if you don't like ONE of them you must be a hater. Or a mutant.
THE WII IS FLOWING BOUNTIFULLY

I own a Wii, and I understand that is the full list of good looking games for the Wii. Such is why I'm really really disappointed in it. Sure, MP:3, Mario Galaxy, Zelda, Smash Brothers, and Paper Mario are reasons that actually warrant a Wii by themselves because they are so damn good. But if I made a list of every 360 game that is awesome, I'd consider it spam for how long the list would be. I played Excite Truck and it got old pretty fast. Sadly, the same can be said for Wario Ware on the wii. You have no idea how pumped I was for Wii Super Monkey Ball. No idea how much I played through Monkey Ball 1 and 2. IMO, the Wii controls for it SUCK ASS. That alone deeply soured my taste for the new wiimote. Wake me up when there's a 1:1 ratio.

This afternoon I was at a Pamida (small-town discount store in Iowa, Illinois, who knows where else) and at least five Wii's were sitting on the shelves waiting for buyers.
Maybe everyone in Iowa already has a Wii.

I say that the Wii will probably double in sales this November and December. If the Wii has been selling 403K units every month since May then this holiday I predict that the Wii will sell 800K to 900K units November and dcember. But The PS3 and 360 will probably sell double the units of what they have sold these last few months. So this is going to be a great Holiday.
I predict this being the best holiday EVAR!!!!!!!!
With Super Mario Galaxy, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Battalion Wars 2, Dewy's adventure, Zack and Wiki
And Call of Duty 4, Halo 3, Drake's Fortune, and some other AAA titles for 360 and PS3 this year will rule.

I believe EGM ran an article recently pointing out that every year for the past few years have been getting progressively better and better, game-rating wise.
And this year...just...wow...there's literally not just SOMETHING for everyone, but there's actually about 4 or 5 things for everyone....across every platform!
Greatest holiday ever, indeed!

Waruwaru's reply isn't really "fanboyish" so to speak.
If he were to say that PS3 or 360 rocks the Wii, then that would qualify as "fanboy" talk.
Waruwaru should simply be categorized as a "hater".
On topic:
Although I already have a Wii, thanks to camping at a GameStop on a Sunday at 7 am, it's still pretty amazing that you can't find out to this day.

9 nintendo games, awsome, plz stop with RE 4, its a fucking port and of course the VC doesnt count bcause the games are just roms emulated, its not like xbox live arcade that at least they upgrade the graphics and put online to the games
Posted: Sep 14th 2007 10:37PM (Unverified) said
So you count original games, but not ports, including upgraded remakes like RE4, but at the same time you discount original ROMs for the VC, but you count upgraded ROMs for XBLA? Wouldn't every game on XBLA be a PORT by definition?
If you won't count RE4, you can't count XBLA. You only get to draw one line, Double Standard McGee.

If you're in New York, go to the Nintendo World Store. I was there a few times in the last couple of weeks and they're definitely floWiing there. Three times I went there in the afternoon bet. 3-5pm, each time there were about 25 boxes filled with Wiis behind the counter. At first I thought they were empty, until the sales clerk took one away from the stack and scanned it.
Anyway, I'm happy with my Wii.
