Today in Joystiq: September 14, 2007
Apologies for the picture quality, we had to use camera phones. Tonight, a couple Joystiq network staffers spotted what looked to be pretty tall portraits of a Big Daddy from BioShock and Bubble Man from Mega Man 2. The artist is Mike Groves; those who live in the Athens, Georgia area can check out these lovely pieces at the Transmetropolitan. Everyone else can just check out the highlights for today:

Ebert says, "Sure those pictures are pretty good...but they aren't 'high art.'"

the bioshock in me loves the big daddy pic but the old school in me loves the bubble man pic (MM2 is one of my fav games period). idk which is better, only that they are both awesome and would love them on my wall or even on a shirt.

Some of you live in Athens? Why am I not dominating you at guitar hero competitions? Transmet is a bit rubbish though!
Matt @ Sep 17th 2007 11:41AM
I've seen his shit up around town. Neat stuff.
I agree, Transmet is overrated. About $2 too much for every item on the menu. Little Italy's still got the best pizza I've had in town (though I wouldn't mistake it for a meal).
T3H WICKERMAN @ Sep 17th 2007 12:38PM
I worked at depalmas for a year and thought we had good pie, but yeah littles food is good. Lots of bars but so little choice price wise.
Matt @ Sep 17th 2007 1:05PM
Word. Too many bars, not enough real restaurant choices. But gems like Basil Press and Porterhouse help make up for it; $35 at one of those places = ~$80 in Atlanta.
Ross Miller @ Sep 17th 2007 3:03PM
I'm not a huge fan of Transmet, but when you're with a group of friends, you can't necessarily decide where you run off to eat. And though I like Little Italy pizza, I definitely prefer their enormous sandwiches (especially given a student blogger's tight budget).
Matt @ Sep 17th 2007 3:13PM
Tell me about it. For as many restaurants as there are here, there's not a lot of variety. Then you get,
"Where should we eat?"
"I don't know."
"I don't care."
"So *where should we eat?!?*"
I'm pretty bad with that crap, so I can't really talk. Back in the day, I lived off the Little's sandwiches, especially their hot veggie sub (no onions) and meatball sub. My stomach no longer recognizes them as food, unfortunately.
