Why waste afternoons playing video games by yourself when you can best your opponents on the virtual battlefield? We beseech you, dear reader, to consider devising your own Omegathon competition, modeled after the five-game event seen every year at the Penny Arcade Expo. Here are some suggested guidelines:
At least one game that is "off the grid" (i.e. not on a television screen).
At least one retro title (e.g. Pong, Tetris, Daikatana)
A variety of genres such as puzzle, first-person shooter, racing, etc.
At least one embarrassing title that gets competitors active. Usually a rhythm game
Bear in mind the length of each competitive match -- although Civilization would make for an interesting event, if you place it early with 10 contenders, you're going to lose enthusiasm fast. Don't have any friends? Create an Omegathon for yourself -- it'll be exactly like preparing for Ninja Warrior by building your own obstacles in your yard. I find vgcats to be a pretty generic comic and since when is penny arcade funny. I'm just pissed CAD wasn't mentioned and seems to never be. Freakin weak.
I voted Extra Life. The other ones weren't very funny, and VG Cats shouldn't even qualify. I know the guy is busy, but "Weekly Webcomic" doesn't mean it's up ALL week.

The hell if I know. Personally, I don't see why Nintendo needs a defense force, or any of the three for that matter. It just seems tragic and sad. And not in the "oh boo-hoo" kind of way but "Hey, look at that legless dog trying to drag himself to food with his chin" kind of way.
SDF was played off Japan's military Special Defense Force. They can't technically have an army due to the McArthur Constitution instituted after WWII. So it's like a war with soldiers can't physically attack each other.
It's not like we're paid to physically defend Nintendo... yet. We just defend Nintendo's honor on these message boards. The other day I killed a troll with a witty comment. Don't front just 'cuz you don't have a ring.
Who cares??? It seems that I'm always seeing some lame discussion over rings on here. I think we can all agree that Nintendo does NOT need a defense force. It wasn't funny to begin with, and now its just annoying.

A. Increase episode production essentially watching the quality of the show degrade into nothingness. Seriously, Nickelodeon was expecting him to match Spongebob production rates. I'm sure we can all agree quality would suffer under that issue and ultimately, Jhonen would not be happy. Interesting side note, I still can't believe they got the voice of Smurfette to play Ms. Bitters.
