As a major Harry Potter fan, and being through the last three book releases, I know too well how to handle the internet during such times.

I see your point, but is anyone else angry at the stupidity of the ad campaigns. Ill make my case. The first thing you ever saw of halo 3 was a little teaser video that right at the end showed cortana muttering the words "this is the way the world ends" 2007 finish the fight etc...
Now, fast forward to the new ad campaign that and their new campaign site www.halo3.com/believe and you will understand what i mean. So now there is this old dude talking about a legend, heck, the earth survives, wow, you blew the story for me. For once, I actually hoped to see the aliens win, it would be magestic, but no!!! Now, even before i played my 129.99 dolars version of the game, I happen to know the end. This just sucks!
If you do go the the website and read all the story lines very carefully you learn that the earth only survives because the Master Chief sacrifices himself for the greater good. Now i know im probably damaging the storylines for all others that read my message, but think about it people, its true.
Those are the reasons, why even though it is a cool campaign, i absolutely think it is downright stupid, it destroyed the sense that the story would be final and even that suspense of, will this game finally kill off humanity. I belive the campaigns are spoilers, done by amateur little kids at McCann (ad agency) who got to play the game too soon.

CRAZY!!! I really cannot wait. The most strange circumstances surround the release date for me. 1: its my birthday. 2:It's my 17th birthday. 3:you have to be 17 to purchase an M-rated game (supposedly).

My whole life is on the internet. The past few weeks, I've been gobbling up every little Halo 3 factoid I could in anticipation of the 25th. Frankly, I'm more worried about what's going to happen after the game is released. What will I do with my free time? I'm going to go crawl into a corner and gently weep until Halo 4.

Yes please can i totaly avoid everything that has to do with halo! Remove all news and so on from the internet, why?
Because the game is going to suck like the other halo games! It is the worlds most overhyped game. This time it is going to suck in HD!! I think I'll play through Halo 1 and 2 just as build up for part 3, kinda keep the story going. I guess I'll start on the 24th because the games are about 6 hours long each. I'll be good and ready for Halo 3...probably another 6-7 hour affair...

And of course thats assuming that my 3rd 360 doesn't RRoD or scratch the shit out of the discs...i guess the odds are about 60/40 its going to happen. I just hope I can knock out the H3 campaign at least once first...

i plan not to go to message boards till I buy the game, which is never cuz i'm ever so broke.

I doubt X3F will be posting any spoilers before the game ships (but based on previous history they won't even after the game is released) as it could be seen as copyright infringement. Plus I doubt AOL would be too happy about that.


I no longer need to worry about Halo 3 spoilers... Someone who use to be on my friends list already sent me a message containing the ending in the title... Yay.

Hopefully Greg Kasavin on Gamespot doesn't give away a key surprise of the game and then claim that the only way someone could have known that surprise is if they had played a leaked version of the game. It couldn't have possibly been a case of applied logic...everyone knows gamers are too dumb to use logic.

Of course they're going to probably give it an 8.0 just to be different.

Also got BioShock and Stranglehold on their way now, and then Halo3 & skate later in the month! ;) (Skates not out in the UK for a few more weeks)

I went on the diarama (however it is spelt), and it ruined the ending, unless it wasn't based on the game. I advise you don't go on the dharma and greg thing, and if you do, don't click the blue icon when it displays Master Chief and asks you to enter 360 mode.

It's a shame that Master Chief dies.

Well, I'm keeping clear away from any of the story line spoilers. As a matter of fact, I warned my son that his head would roll if he breathes a word of the ending to me before I get to "finish the fight" myself.

Last time with Halo 2, we got back from the midnight madness deal at 2:30AM, I went to bed after watching the opening credits, got up late (took several days off for this event) and by 10:00am my son had finished H2 and was blabbing all about it-not going to have a repeat with Halo 3. :)

Actually i have stumbled upon a link that tells the whole story i haven't read it yet (and dont plan to) but be careful they are out there.
