Reminder: win the ultimate Halo 3 setup from X3F

There are now less than eight days between you and the end of a long, hard intergalactic war. We're talking of course about Halo 3. Do you have an Xbox 360? Wait ... do you even have a television? Regardless of your answers to these vital questions, our Warthog co-pilots over at X3F have an incredible setup to give away to you, dear readers.

We're talking about a 50" Panasonic 1080p plasma television, a Bose 3-2-1 GSX surround sound system, and an Xbox 360 Elite gaming console. The only thing missing from this baby is a crate full of Mountain Dew Game Fuel. To enter, simply leave a comment over at Xbox 360 Fanboy and cross your fingers. The winner will be chosen at random but you can enter once per day to improve your odds.

Do it today. And then again tomorrow. The Chief deserves more than RCA quality.

WARNING: Semi-Technical Information!

It's a nice package, though not "ultimate". Plasmas have come a long way and most no longer suffer from burn in or slow response times, though I haven't looked up this particular model. The perks of plasma over LCD is the contrast ratio. Most Plasmas offer a 10,000:1 CR while a typical LCD can only manage around 3,000:1. The downside is the larger pixel size, which restrains plasma screens to larger (40"+) screens.

For sound, Bose is upper tier equipment for Best Buy, but not the "ultimate" setup. Even within the Bose series there are better models than the 3-2-1, which is only simulated surround sound (albeit VERY convincing). I respect Bose for what they are (small package speakers), but for the same price, you can get better sound if you don't mind a larger speaker enclosure.

As for the 360 Elite, well, it is indeed the "ultimate" 360 at this point in time and I'd take it over the Halo 3 version...

i never played halo before i heard its good so i guess if i win i might actually go and buy halo 3
