No,this is what happens.

At the end of the episode, John meets his co-workers at a restaurant. He arrives first and selects Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" from the tabletop jukebox. Various people enter and Master chief looks at each of them. Cortana enters and joins him, asking about his meeting with the UNSC. Arbiter. arrives next, complaining about the more mundane tasks of his job but quotes some of Master chief own advice: "Focus on the good times." After a moment, Master chief reluctantly agrees. Miranda is late and has difficulty parallel parking her Warthog outside. A man at the counter orders coffee, looks in Master chief direction a couple of times, then walks towards him, going past to the restroom. Master chief, Cortana, and Arbiter. each pop an onion ring in their mouths and finally, Miranda parks and rushes across the street, approaching the door. MC hears the bell on the door ring and glances up. The screen then abruptly cuts to black and the music stops (on the word 'stop'). After several seconds, the credits roll in silence.

I didn't have an original Xbox, so I only played Halo on my PC. I never played the Halo 2 campaign. Now I own a 360 and I plan on getting Halo 3. I have absolutely no interest in the campaign mode whatsoever. I'll beat it to get it out of the way but multiplayer is definitely the strong point of the Halo series. I could care less about the crappy story. Honestly, I think the Halo series is waaaaay overrated, but it's still good enough to warrant a purchase.
