Rumor: Halo 3 ending leaked onto net

The internet is crawling right now with word that the Halo 3 ending has been leaked and is percolating through the tubes as we speak. The source of the video is reportedly the eBay member who was selling Halo 3.

We can't verify the video or information is accurate, and we're not going to. If you must find out now (instead of waiting seven more days), feel free to Google "Halo 3 ending" -- trust us, you'll find it, and as of this writing it's the number 13 most popular search. Anyone that wants to avoid potential spoilers has been warned.

i only played halo 2 a few weeks ago, though, so i don't know much about the story

Nope. Master Chief dies, and the world is saved. It's not really a rumor as many people have already seen it.

No,this is what happens.

At the end of the episode, John meets his co-workers at a restaurant. He arrives first and selects Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" from the tabletop jukebox. Various people enter and Master chief looks at each of them. Cortana enters and joins him, asking about his meeting with the UNSC. Arbiter. arrives next, complaining about the more mundane tasks of his job but quotes some of Master chief own advice: "Focus on the good times." After a moment, Master chief reluctantly agrees. Miranda is late and has difficulty parallel parking her Warthog outside. A man at the counter orders coffee, looks in Master chief direction a couple of times, then walks towards him, going past to the restroom. Master chief, Cortana, and Arbiter. each pop an onion ring in their mouths and finally, Miranda parks and rushes across the street, approaching the door. MC hears the bell on the door ring and glances up. The screen then abruptly cuts to black and the music stops (on the word 'stop'). After several seconds, the credits roll in silence.

I didn't have an original Xbox, so I only played Halo on my PC. I never played the Halo 2 campaign. Now I own a 360 and I plan on getting Halo 3. I have absolutely no interest in the campaign mode whatsoever. I'll beat it to get it out of the way but multiplayer is definitely the strong point of the Halo series. I could care less about the crappy story. Honestly, I think the Halo series is waaaaay overrated, but it's still good enough to warrant a purchase.

It's not the ending, it's the journey that forms the meat of the game. You do realise most endings are merely cutscenes/cinematics anyway?

Theres really no spoilers at all in the video, unless you didnt know the humans win and the war ends(which was obvious from the start of the first game), and if you didnt know that then i just ruined the ending for you. The video just shows some stuff happening and then marines standing over the battlefield that the believe diorama is modeled after. They talk about how they will rebuild, except for those grounds, which will make a memorial. The good plot points probably take place in the game or in earlier cutscenes

I sure that after the credits on Legendary you find out that the ship Master Chief was on had a damaged slipspace drive. He's still alive - it just took him a year to get back to earth on sublight engines. Or something.
