PGR4 demo to have exclusive content

A demo from Bizarre Creations' Project Gotham Racing 4 should be hitting Xbox Live soon, according to the developer (via Eurogamer). In addition to five playable vehicles (cars and bikes) that presumably will be in the full game, there will be an Arcade mode exclusive to the demo set in Macau, featuring exclusive challenges.
We're a bit perplexed about the exclusive content. If it's good, why not include it in the full game. Conversely, if the content is not good, or not on par with the full game, why use it to promote the title?

A time trial for Nurburgring Snow will also be in the demo. Project Gotham Racing 4 (with Geometry Wars: Waves) is due out October 2 in North America.

Anyways... it is a little odd, I think it will be in the game in the end as a bonus. We all know "exclusive" means nothing these days.

It's just to get people intersted in the game that might not have bought the game before. I'm downloading it and this demo might stay on my 360.

good thing their releasing PGR4 before GT5 Prologue...cause Prologue is going to make PGR4 look like shit.

As soon as I stop laughing, I'll inform you that the PGR series is nothing like Gran Turismo. Gotham is too arcadey. Turismo is pure simulation.

Forza would be a better comparison, and even it's better than Gran truismo.

i think they may use the demo to "unlock" it, kinda like NGSigma where the demo gave you extra health potions in the full game.

This just means I'll be playing the demo a lot.

I've been playing the heck outta the NHL 08 demo. Still haven't bought the full version yet. I will eventually, but it's a solid little demo on its own.
Sounds like the PGR4 demo will be more of the same.

They could have created a track that was not as large (in file size) to keep the demo size reasonable or there could be something that has to deal with licensing issues which would could included for free in the demo vs the retail game. In anycase I'll be DLing this one.

MAybe they had created the more arcady stuff , tried it and decided it was fun but didn't fit with the rest of the game (not in terms of size, but in terms of style of play) and rather than throw it our they figured it would be a nice gift to eh community.
