GHII gets some heavy DLC tomorrow

Even with Guitar Hero III just month's away, it looks like Activision is still keen to milk its very lucrative downloadable content business. As such, the company has announced a new song pack for Guitar Hero II. Like the previous packs, the new song pack includes three new tracks for you to shred to your heart's content. The song pack includes the following tracks.

Trivium - "Detonation"
Atreyu - "Right Side of the Bed"
Protest the Hero - "Bury the Hatchet"

Lest you are unfamiliar with the new tracks, let's just say they're a bit on the hard side, especially compared to last month's DLC. According to ScoreHero, the new content will be available tomorrow at 2:00AM (PT) for the still onerous price of 500 MS Points. Now, if Activision would finally release some Fine Young Cannibals, we'd be in business.

* Though A different Trivium would of been better. Maybe "Entrance of the Conflagration" or "Anthem"

I was just listening to their album last week thinking that most of those songs would be insane one Guitar Hero. I might have to buy that pack for that one song.

Ok, so Atreyu isn't THAT great, but Trivium is killer and PTH is good I guess. I haven't really listened to that much of them.

I love trivium, that is one of my lesser liked songs seriously should have picked something off of ember to inferno the crusade is somewhat subpar imo that is an awesome atreyu song, not familiar with the last. Although I think that last time I saw trivium they played opening.

atreyu is awesome. they have great fucking guitar riffs and songs. the 1st 2 albums were badass after that ... not so much.

Meh, Trivium are awful, and never heard of the other two unfortunately. I'll wait until GHIII when I can play some Slayer and old Metallica.

Bring on some Killswitch, Underoath, Between The Buried and Me. I think those bands are pretty much mainstream these days. They'd be the first pack I would purchase.

I used to hate on Rap too. Then I turned 15 and learned to appreciate all music.

BTBAM would be so sick. I've seen a nice custom chart of Selkies. Or anything from their latest album would be amazing.. customs are the only reason I wish I had a PS2 :(

i just want some mainstream songs that i have heard of before. something that you can turn on the radio to a noraml rock station and hear. i'm not talking about a my chemical romance overload, just 3 mainstream songs. i vaguely remember hearing of the band atreyu before but not enough to buy this song pack. this DLC at this price is getting old and i still won't buy it......

In celebration of the release of Halo 3 they should have the Halo theme song as a song download (Mjolnir version). I'll be blasting that song all the way to EB to pick up Halo 3 next week!

Ahhhhh I wish Right Side of the Bed wasn't such a fucking rockin' song so I wasn't compelled to buy this. If only they had picked a lamer Atreyu song, I could save up my MS points...

@23 this stuff is FAR from death metal. Death metal is like Six Feet Under and Canibal Corpse.

Activision specifically came out and said they don't just want popular songs that people like. They want songs with great guitar solos.

As of 7:30 CT this morning, the promised content was nowhere to be found on the Marketplace.

I just went to download the new tracks.and they're not on the list to dl.does anyone know what's going on? did they not get released?

They're up now...the one complaint I've got though is the mix on the Atreyu song...atrocious.
