Mass Effect trilogy aims to begin & end on Xbox 360

While he could not comment on exclusivity, BioWare president and co-founder Dr. Greg Zeschuk has told Games Radar that the developer's goal is to have all three installments of the planned Mass Effect trilogy to appear on the Xbox 360.

The only problem Zeschuk foresees in the plan is the console life cycle. "I hope, I hope, I hope that this cycle is longer than the last one," he said, adding that the advent of downloadable content means they could bridge the gap between iterations with "new little islands of story between the big game releases."

Sony has previously stated its intentions to have the PlayStation 3's life cycle exceed previous consoles; if that holds, Microsoft would less incentive release its own competitive hardware upgrade within the traditional cycle. Zeschuk would not comment on the exclusivity of the series to the Xbox 360.

Mass Effect is due out November 20 in North America.

Hahahaha, yeah right. Like somehow people playing on their 360's will miss the slightly improved graphics and maybe one or two extras. KB/M controls aren't all that, and I prefer sitting on the couch than on a computer chair, but whatever floats your boat.

I also like to get bang for my buck, and when you see how much a computer costs that can run Mass Effect at the same graphic level as a 360, I know who wins.

How is it likely to come to PC anyway? There have been no announcements or even clues about it, if that's likely then MGS4 for 360 CONFIRMED.

Maybe because all the good 360 games go to the PC.....so what's the point in getting a 360? To play Viva Pinata?

There's a BIG difference between Mass Effect on the PC and MGS4 on 360. At least a PC could play Mass Effect.

You could always use a 360 controller on the PC, and have the PC output to a digital monitor display to emulate the console experience.

The PC will also give you a higher resolution, and probably a lot of extra content due to the guaranteed HDD.

I'm not saying the 360 version will suck. I'm just saying, since I have a nice PC, I'd rather play it on that. Don't care if it's later than everyone, otherwise I'd play it on 360.

The fact that he's struggling to talk exclusivity is a good indication that it's coming to some other platform. It's gotta be Windows if it's being published by m$. Also.. it's BioWare... they make dope PC games. They have a rather large PC fanbase.

Plus since m$ is very good w/ development tools, I bet it'd be pretty straightforward to port many 360 games on a high end Windows based PC, especially if you coded it with the thought that you were going to put it on different, yet similar, platforms.

At least I get to play it at least six months before PC elitists. :D

You are basing your Gears of War opinion on its weakest part, the single player, while not mentioning the enormously popular and well done multiplayer and co-op. That just plain reaks of fanboyism or ignorance. You pick and I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

They'll never make it. MS isn't going to extend the life of 360 and take a chance that Sony can be first to market on the next-gen before them.

360 has likely 4 years, 5 tops. And with Bioware's cycles, they can't get 3 games on it unless they plan on making some shoddy games.

At least they're not trying to use the cliffhanger ending of the second game to try to bait players into buying a new console to which the third game will be exclusive. I'm looking at you, Halo 2/God of War 2.

Agreed. Halo 2's ending was probably the worst ending in video game history. MS better be damn glad GRAW and Oblivion were great and Sony delayed a year because I so wanted to avoid MS's system just based on the BS maneuver they pulled with Halo 2.

You beat an entire game just so they can use the ending to get you to buy the next installment. But, I couldn't wait for Oblivion and PC was too expensive, so here I am with a 360 and Halo 3 preordered.

If by "better" you mean "delayed" then sure.

Also, I hate to burst your bubble but more hard drives have crashed and cpus overheated then 360 RROD problems. Im not saying thats gonna happen. What im saying is being a PC user and taking a crackshot at an old 360 problem is just dumb.

I've had my Athlon X2 since before I got my 360 and it never crapped out on me. No HDD problems, no overheating. On the other hand, my 360 is in the shop for the 2nd time since I got it (it arrived in Mc Allen, TX today).

Yeah, more PCs have died than 360s, but there are 100 times as many PCs out there as 360s. Percentage-wise, 360 is a disaster on reliability.

And as to it being an "old problem", when I listed to the 1up Yours folks (and others) talking about their 360 Elites dying, I know the problem is still current.

"I'm just saying I'll have a better experience with it then the people that buy it for 360."

Why's that?

That list is so off the mark. What half assed website did you get that 360 exclusive list from? There are many more than that - and you call other people fanboys.

Nintendo said that the Gamecube would have a longer lifespan of the other consoles too.

Here's a hint they say stupid stuff like that so stupid people go 'I'll think I'll buy a system now". In the end it will go on sales, if the sales of the Xbox 360 or PS3 aren't as high as they like within 3ish years new systems will come out to try and start again.
