You probably don't need to hear any more from us and we're sure that the MGS nuts among you will have plenty to say about the minutiae of this leaked Metal Gear Solid 4 trailer on GameVideos from TGS. But, just in case, we've picked out some choice bits to highlight with everyone's favorite bit of punctuation: The exclamation point.
Meryl! Roadblock! Old Snake's pulling a gun on Gollum! Oh, and Gollum is drinking a Coke! ... And he's apparently friends with Wesley Snipes' character from Demolition Man! Hey, there's Jeff Goldblum! Eye Have You! An actual Metal Gear! Wow, we wish we could speak Japanese! (Wait, we don't need to!)
You have no idea what you are talking about. Metal Gear Solid is one of the best games of all time and the sequels are all fantastic games. I'm willing to bet that you have never played one. You were already caught being a Microsoft Fanboy earlier, so dont try and act like you have something relevant to comment on this topic.
The fact is, Metal Gear Solid games are epic and is unlike anything else out in the VG world.
This game is way overrated. It is nothing more than an interactive movie. I played the past games and Splinter Cell is way better than this and with Splinter Cell you don't have to sit through an 30 min. cut scene.
I just finished MGS 3 and am most of the way through my 2nd run through. If you stopped at the 2nd because the story was so weird, you owe it to yourself to check out the 3rd one. It's by far the best of the series (if you discount the fact that the first was so groundbreaking). The attention to detail in these games is outstanding.
I was feeling kind of ho-hum about the 4th until I finished the 3rd. Now I'm very excited.
Micheal82, Yeah, with Splinter Cell you just have to sit through every other game. The even numbered ones are totally phoned in by 2nd rate developers in Shanghai.
That said, I am looking forward to Conviction. It's about time they shook that series up a bit.

I stopped playing the MGS games after finishing the second one (never bothered with any of the add-ons). Promises of epic storylines, then you end up listening to emos whining to you over the phone for five hours (with some gameplay snippets inbetween).
I've been a huge MGS fan since before MGS was 3d, but these trailers are getting to weird for me. MGS has always been an over-the-top weird game, but I draw a line at flying metal cows with digestive problems.

Whatever happened to the real-time cloth animation that Sony claimed at one of the E3s? All the characters models look like plastic action figures. oh, and nice boobs.
Um, there is ALOT I don't get here. Why she got her shirt unbuttoned? Matter of fact, there is like 3 cleavage shots. Why she wearing earrings in combat? ...
I don't want to start some stupid fanboy flame war -- but this game just doesn't interest me -- I'm sure it will be tight code and entertaining but it's not for me. Sony needs a game that everyone is dying to have -- while this might be it for some, I'm sure their ads won't appear to the masses. I buy every system that has appealing games but Sony hasn't done it for me. Where's the gameplay? This franchise has gone downhill since part 2.

Anyway MGS4 looks great and now it has a monkey (Monkeys make everything awesome), the part where Rex and Ray was EPIC but is too much to ask for subtitles? BTW what the eff with that ending? Comical relief huh.
as a ps3 owner, I still say "meh" the design of everything in this game screams "middle school comic book artist" to me. I just don't understand why people get so excited over this. unless I'm 20 years older than everyone on this site..

Never played Metal Gear, even though I have a ps2...just never found it interesting.

Best game ever to be made. I never could understand why people feel they need to make a comment on everything they know they wont buy or want. Thats stupid. I don't care for Halo but i'm not in all the Halo boards trashing it. I I just comment on what I want to see and buy and keep it rolling. Get a life people, and find a find a girlfriend to. Its just a video game.
Only people saying that they don't like this game are those who a) has a 360 b) won't praise it until it is announced for the 360 c) just don't like espionage titles at all. The same can be said for the responses for the new rumble controller.
If it is a good game, praise it. Else explain what is wrong, without comparing it to a big hyped up game that you plan to own, and then end it with that. As a PS3 owner, I have no problem saying I like Mass Effect and Eternal Sonata (only reason I'm not saying fps is because they make me dizzy). Why can't 360 (including some PS3) users be, for the lack of a better word, more mature in this respect?
Well you have to be honest,the trialer isn't too impressive unless you count Ray vs Rex and the monkey,that was Good but other than that it was kind of lame.
The graphics aren't too impressive either I mean let's take a look at Far cry 2 for a moment,I didn't hear any music in the trailer,IMO the trailer for portable ops + was a lot better.
I don't think this low resolution trailer can really represent a game that is suppose to be played at 1080i/p on a HDTV. Plus, it is under development for half a year more before release.
