Wow. Just wow. You probably don't need to hear any more from us and we're sure that the MGS nuts among you will have plenty to say about the minutiae of this leaked Metal Gear Solid 4 trailer on GameVideos from TGS. But, just in case, we've picked out some choice bits to highlight with everyone's favorite bit of punctuation: The exclamation point.
Meryl! Roadblock! Old Snake's pulling a gun on Gollum! Oh, and Gollum is drinking a Coke! ... And he's apparently friends with Wesley Snipes' character from Demolition Man! Hey, there's Jeff Goldblum! Eye Have You! An actual Metal Gear! Wow, we wish we could speak Japanese! (Wait, we don't need to!)
Man, that boob shot was so blatant. "lolboobies=$$$$" And why does everyone in this game have a wedgie? Seems like half of the game you're staring at someone's buttcrack.
Though the graphics in the trailers look nice, I still won't play this game cause A) I never played any of the other MGS games, and B) I don't have a PS3.
I'll get my sneaky-sneaky fix with Assassin's Creed. kthx.
Splinter Cell [I've only played Chaos Theory] is good for jumping directly into a simplified stealth mission; MGS3: Snake Eater is good for when you want a stealth mission and a great story. They're both good in their own unique ways. The A.I. in MGS3 is fairly tough [until you get the Spirit Camo] compared to the AI in SCCT. Sneaking up on SC's enemies is ridiculously easy, [but still very enjoyable], and the lack of boss battles is a bit of a letdown. Then again, Splinter Cell is set up to be more realistic than the Metal Gear Solid series.
I do like how youtube works... If you don't enjoy some poster's flippant rant, you click the "thumbs down" and not only does the rant gets a " - ". The rant gets closed so it doesn't bother your eyes with it's lack of intelligence.
Um, people, may I add, all this trailer represents is brief clips here and there from the game, its not meant to be an over exaggerated hyped up trailer, theres been enough of those for mgs4 already. If you find the trailer boring, word of advice, take over Konami's marketing department and make a better trailer.
I sometimes wonder if some people are born with brains -_-
Oh, and for the record, from what I've played of SC, freedom to do whatsoever you wish sucks, it feels planned, you escape just because a vent happens to be there, you get seen, no second chances, oh no, its game over. At least with MGS you have a choice, and you don't feel as if you are repeating the same boring planned out linear path over and over again until you pull out your hair in fury, thus the reason most MGS games have scored high and been a success, including the PSP versions, so much for SC which failed.
This trailer has Snake pointing a gun at a black man.
Therefore, this game is racist.
I will not be getting this game because of it being racist, and neither should any of you unless you want to burn in hell for playing this and Resident Evil 5 (which also includes you pointing guns at black people).
Man, that would be awesome if some day discussion threads on joystiq would become actual discussion threads, instead of fanboys from both sides comparing how big their dicks are.
I am going to buy PS3 ONLY to play this awesoe game, cause MGS2:S is the Best game, ever. Old Snake looks bad, and the whole story of MGS4:GotP seems somehow wrong to me... But I expect this game to be at least as great as MGS3:S was.
