Today's trottingest video: Horse Life trailer
Horse Life looks like a Nintendogs where you can compete with your animal. (Oh, there was that whole dog agility thing, but we stuck to frisbee games instead. Will a horse chase a frisbee?) We'll leave the sharp critique for the commenters. To our eyes, if you're into horse raising-and-riding games, this looks fun. What do the equestrians in the house say? C'mon, we know you're out there. Or are you waiting in line already for the November DS release?
See the trailer after the break.

Ass Gordan Horseman, you are a Derby Winner who accidentally cause a rupture in the space-time continuum, causing animals of different origin to fall all over the track. Possessing your wits and your firepower (of horseshoes), you'll explore hell and back as you fight your way through nearly 10 hours of explosive horse-fighting action.
At least, that's what I wish Horse-Life is about.

film school for the win. i can't remember details, but i do know it is relevant to cinema.

It's considered one of the first pieces of motion picture film ever shot. It was taken to prove that at one point when a horse is running that all of it's feet leave the ground.

Why, oh why must game publishers put ds videos at an angle, taking up a quarter of the video screen, wiggling and twisting the video around like it's dancing?? Why can't they put a straight on view, with the actual gameplay taking up the whole video screen? Not that this would make Horse Life better..but still. I know what the ds looks like! I don't need to see it in the video.

Hey Unosturgis. My guess is the strange proportions of the DS stacked screens versus the 4:3 aspect ratio (or worse, 16:9) of the trailers.
unosturgis @ Sep 19th 2007 5:08AM
the trailer is in 4:3 and the video only shows the bottom screen anyway..so there is no point. Besides I have seen videos on ign where they fit both screens in the video straight on, with no wiggling around! ::gasp::

Will this be like one of those games hardcores secretly play under the covers at night?

LOL

I find Barbie Horse Adventures to be a superior title in all respects.
shivr @ Sep 19th 2007 6:19PM
you're right, BHA was way more immersive, with intuitive controls and a provocative storyline.

Well, as an equestrian I will say that this game looks pretty damn boring to me. Actually riding and jumping one's horse is fun. Watching graphics of a virtual horse I'm controlling while I ride and steer it over jumps - not fun.
