Uncharted videos map out better idea of gameplay
The video above and after the break look good, but we can't help notice that there are still some rough gameplay issues going on. Thankfully, we've seen solid development progression as we've reported on the title the last few months. We'll try to get more hands-on time with the game this week as we report from the Tokyo Games Show.

Might be intentional. Controls and camera.were criticized before so I think they wanted to show them being fixed.
I do hope they can find the right balance of shooting and platforming.

The animation is so pretty! They just need to work on the close quarters combat and I think this'll be a nice addition to the PS3's library.

graphics look pretty damn impressive. The puzzles kind of remind me of Soul Reaver (loved that game). Gun fights look pretty shitty if you ask me, but everything else looks pretty fun.

This looks like tomb raider...Except they haven't been able to replicate the industry famous puzzles/acrobatic gameplay very well, so they've just chucked in some shitty cover system shooting system with shitty enemy AI which will probably get annoying after the first 2 levels and you'll wish you could just explore in peace instead of playing some toned down shooter/toned down explorer.
Really average looking.
Predicting another AAA PS3 title going down the drain here lads.

I think the game looks great.
The game looks fun. I don't know how people can say that the shooting and cover system looks just like GOW, it really does btw, and then say it looks crappy. The AI is really hard to determine from a short video montage. If they were all hardcore military savants then you would die in two seconds against the swarm of people in the first video.
I can't wait for this game.

I'm often, and in my opinion wrongly, called a 360 fanboy but even I think this game looks really good. I would have rather the shooting elements were less Gears of War (swat roll and roll over cover is almost identical) because I already played a game full of that.
But, the graphics look good. It has puzzle elements. I liked the way the guns sounded and the way dust poofed from bullet impact on pillars. Gave it a cool little effect. Hopefully they add a nice multiplayer component that isn't tacked on or charged for.

To be honest im STILL not that crazy about the graphics. I love my PS3 and all but everything looks like it's covered in tin foil and then painted with acrylic paint.
It looks fun though, and I never liked Tomb Raider, so if this can give me the.....raiding(?) experience, without the lame main character then bring it on.
For some reason though watching him run around in the jungle makes me want to play Abe's Odyssey again. That game was hot sex.

I mean dont get me wrong, Epic can make great games... but GoW aint necessarily the first game to do...well anything really... its like saying all FPS games were copied off of Halo.
and as for the Tomb Raider comments... even Joystiq in an earlier post about uncharted said the only correlation it has to Tomb Raider is that you're a treasure hunter.

I really think it's just people that see it's a graphically impressive game that does what Gears did but does it with less flat characters characters (do-rag and soul patch so Fenix is x-treme and cool, rite?) and in more interesting environments.
It's not so much that they're running scared, but they hope to prove Gears is still the "bestest game evar" by saying anything with which similarities could be drawn is a ripoff. We'll go through the same shit once Halo 3 comes out and Gears is all but forgotten. Any game with a gun in it will be "an inferior shootan game to Halo 3".

Looks good. The animations do need some work at times (like when he falls in the water). It's gonna be a rush to get this one out the door this year.
I swear those ground textures are stolen straight out of Gears of War. It looks good in this game, in a few ways, this game actually looks better than Gears. But I have to imagine it would be a bit distracting.
It's interesting how it zooms in to reload (sometimes) and the way it switches to your map with a rapid zoom to your hands. I have to imagine that elements like this will become standard in the future. Maybe people will even say "this game rips off Uncharted" some day.

Eh. Gears textures look like rocks, these textures look like rocks. There's only so much variation you can get when it's supposed to be a realistic material. They have a similar normal-mapping quality to them though, so while I can see what you mean, I think it's a stretch to say it's "ripped off from gears"

No.
Gears is stylized, not real. It's trying to be "more real than real" if anything.
Uncharted for some reason is copying some of these aspects of Gears. It's not a terrible thing, but it's not just a "convergence to real" as you imply.

Video didn't do much more me personally, but part of that may be the bad taste I got from some of the latest Tomb Raider games. I don't mind that there's a lot of shooting, though - I'd rather have puzzles here and there and lots of action inbetween.
The animations are nice, but the combat itself is sort of subdued. I'm fine that they're not going for super-bloody, but I'd like more of a violent shaking effect from blasting guys with the gun - maybe the shotun does that.
I'll still probably get it, though, as my PS3 has mostly been a blu-ray player to date.

The gameplay looks like it's all over the place. And while damage in Gears suspended disbelief because you played as a hulking, armor-clad barbarian, it's silly to watch a guy in a t-shirt take 12 shots to the abdomen and head without flinching.
At least the visuals are gorgeous even though the character designs aren't much my taste.
At best, this game will improve on a lot of gaming clichés. At worst, it will be a contrived heap of shit covered with a glossy veneer of colorful candy and wax.

Its the BEST looking game out there to date. No wonder all the xbox trolls are here panicking and trying to say otherwise. Fug off Xbots, PS3s graphics hav only sparked atm, and will unleash
1 of my most anticipated games, then Killzone, GT, not interested in mgs that much, oh and Haze, lil big planet, anybody heard of 8 days?
