Can there really be two ace attorneys in the world? That's the question we're forced to ponder by a new trailer for Apollo Justice: Ace Attorney from Tokyo Game Show. Here you've got this young upstart kid -- with a hairdo so terrible that Cloud Strife snickers behind his back -- claiming to be the new ace attorney ("double A" on the streets), but there's no mention of Phoenix Wright, the ace attorney we all know and love!
Maybe double As are actually like Highlanders, and the whole game will be about Phoenix and Apollo trying to track each other down and cut the other one's head off. We'd definitely play that. ... Oh, who are we kidding? We're going to be playing it anyway. Curse our love of justice!
(P.S. "Well, this case certainly has taken a turn ... for the interesting!" is the new best thing you can say in any situation.)
Jings, I thought there were enough jokes/puns to be had from the name 'Wright'. How many different jokes can you cram in to one game about a lawyer named 'Justice'?
I don't really mind any more that there's a new attorney, but why did they have to give him such a horrible voice? I thought Phoenix's was a lot better.
pfft! see that hobo in the first case? that's [removed due to spoiler]!!!
and you wanna know why he's like that!? because [censored] has [censored] but got [censored] and then [censored] so the hobo guy [censored] but got [censored] and after a few months later.. he ends up in the defendant's chair...
While going through law school I was fascinated by these games existing, and yet I couldn't bring myself to try them with all the mountains of case law I had to read. Yet, now I am a bit intrigued and will have to put this on the list of games to check out. Are there any others in the legal world who have tried games such as Ace Attorney? What are your thoughts?
I can already picture this being a multiple version game, like those last Megaman ones. :P Or maybe just an introdutory game for new characters on the next Phoenix Wright game.
It certainly feels like an Ace Attorney game, you've got the potentially black judge (he kind of looks like James Avery/Uncle Phil from Fresh Prince), the bumbling defense attorney, and the bishie prosecutor. I'll have to get used to the voice though.
Wait a minute... I could have sworn I played a Phoenix Wright game were he was the defendant... This was a couple years ago though on the GBA... obviously in Japanese... did I imagine this or something?
