TGS07: PlayStation Store coming to PC

In addition to becoming the PlayStation 3's power button of choice, the PSP has made relations with the PC. At the Tokyo Game Show press conference, Kaz Hirai announced that the PS Store will soon be accessible via the computer.

According to Hirai, you will be able to purchase and download PSP content without using the PS3 as a middle-man. The service is reportedly available now in Japan; no word on when it will be coming elsewhere.

Im curious where the PSone games are that we are supposed to be able to download. I remember they were saying FFVII and FFVIII were going to come out when it first started. Im still waiting for those games....

Given Sony's track record with things like online music downloads, I'd have to guess that those of us using OS X will have to run either Boot Camp or VirtualPC to use this service, and who knows if it will work then in VPC's case. Oh well, I haven't needed it as of yet ;)

There was a time I would have bought downloadable psx games for my psp. But I don't own a ps3, the selection of games is week and I the service still not available.
In the meantime, I have converted those psx games I have wanted to play, thus draining whatever remaining interest I had in this eventual announcement.
