If you'd like to know more, PS3 Fanboy has a great interview with Insomniac's Ryan Schneider as he explains the different Ratchets. He says, "In Japan ... they will write their own backstory and they have their own sensibilities. We actively support and encourage that and they're great in identifying what works in that market. Of course, we don't complain because we're one of the few successful Western franchises there period." Although the Japanese Ratchet won't be unlockable in the US version, the Japanese language mode will.

How undeniably predictable of you, Konny. Like a broken record.
What's with Ratchet's eyebrows? A bit bushier than I remember.

It's hard to take you seriously when you still use the default Mario avatar.

Wow, I much prefer the American appearance of Ratchet. (Although, I prefer the Japanese version of Sly Cooper, so I guess it's an even exchange.)

I'm ready for some platforming.
Ratchet does look a bit weird. Sometimes his eyebrows seem like they're extending beyond his face. And the reflective eyes are even stranger.

Did anyone else find it funny that the only English word in that trailer was "FUTURE!"?

I find it interesting that Ratchet got the same treatment that Crash Bandicoot did when he hit Japan. Are there awesome mascot outfits too?

Those eyebrows are not normal. They are strictly added for the Japanese version to add more expression, because it's something they favor. Also the same with Ratchet having a more childish sounding voice as opposed to his teenage/20-year-old American voice.
Also, they need to bring that announcer to America. He rocks at being overly enthusiastic.

No offense, but it seems like Japanese voice actors don't produce voices that fit the character design. Ratchet's Japanese voice is simply awful.
