Doesn't he make a good point, though? Aids is a serious problem in Africa. Not in the national parks, granted, but we have little info on the game, and vast expanses of savanna isn't the whole continent, it's a very varied country. AIDs, however, does affect the whole country.

My main problem is that the animals appear to be posing, or behaving in very stereotypical manners.

Why would Sony show anything about gameplay when there are fantastic graphics to gawk at? Gamers only care about graphics anyway, right?

I still say they should throw in the guy from "MAN VS WILD" to squeeze 'water' from elephant dung. That's gold right there.

Obviously it's a photography game. I guess that the developer thinks that the animal AI is so good, you don't need any actual gameplay.

Obviously? OK dude - I would argue it is not obvious as they haven't said a thing and people keep asking. I seem to recall taking pictures in Bioshock. Guess that was obviously a photography simulator too.

I also argue that its obviously a trample simulator where you go through Africa and get trampled by incredible creatures. Can't wait for the virtual bushdog trample map!

If I had to take a wild guess, you could be a photographer hired to get pictures of animals. Or they could make it fun and you could be a poacher, but I'd doubt they would do that.

A poaching game would be AWESOME. Except, yeah, unlikely, and the working title would be something like Ivory Rising or Grand Theft Rhinoceros Hide.

You know, Pokémon Snap was f*cking awesome.

Just saying.

I think a game like that can be fun once in a while. Even better - this game won't be on rails, you know?

I'm down.

This game seems to be, from what i can tell, Pokemon Snap meets Forever Blue/Endless Ocean

Seems like a good idea, and this trailer is certainly more evidence than the cryptic explanation given at E306 "Its a game that plays itself"

Aw man, I remember when they used to sell those, but stopped because they would roll over at something like 25-30 mph. Considering it was a bunch of high school students buying them, that wasn't a good combination.

On Topic:
The game looks interesting. I bought Seaman out of curiousity but ended up enjoying the outlandish banter of the character. It may be something that is not only interesting, but relaxing at the same time (like looking at fish in the aquarium).

A while ago, Game Informer said that Afrika would be a photography game.

Besides, the animals look great, but everything else, not so much. I was really hoping for a safari simulator with rideable animals and stuff.

Actually, I hate most shooters. In fact, I'd say that shooters are guilty of "tech demos" more than any other genre of games.

With the right TV and sound system I would sell tickets for people come see me play this game (it's a game right?).

LBM played in my small ass city a year ago. It definitely would be a hell of an experience with them providing the music to the game.

People could Google it too...

This is getting ridiculous, it's been over a year since Sony started parading around videos of Afrika, and we still haven't seen gameplay or a potential release date. This game must be really, really epic, or it must be really, really difficult to produce the game on the PS3.

While we're jumping to conclusions, let's start a rumor that it's going to be on the X360. Or better yet, on the Wii, so we can smack the rhinos and spank the monkeys...

...wait, forget that last part. o_o; They're already drinking in the buff in MGS4.
