I would port: The incredible Machine to the DS, because it is the ideal game for it, Touch controls could work well, and the 2D shouldn't really be hard to do for the DS, a proper Physik Engine and it would rock, I mean, come on, it even was release on the handys earlier this year, so why not on the DS too ? PLEASE Sierra DO IT !

Okami DS. A nice sequel completely stylus controlled. And Diabo DS or some related point-and-click RPG. It just makes sense.

On a scale of one to ten, Alien Syndrome. There is really no reason that game would not be a vision of perfection on the DS. I can't imagine how wonky it must be on the PSP.

Also, I second giving me Rocket Knight or giving me death. I've always liked him better than that skank Sonic.

DISGAEA! Sure, it would be a PS2 to DS port, but its not like the game is pushing the best graphics out there. Plus, I wouldn't have to buy a PSP :P!

Or, you know, Nippon Ichi could always just make an original game for the DS. That would be just as sweet.

im all for rocket knight adventures as mentioned by others. bring chrono trigger, earthbound (mother3 would even be cool), and final fantasy 7 (they should use 2 2gb-sized carts, id pay for that) and i will be happy forever.

I'd like to see a DECENT first person Metroid game, Metroid: Hunters wasn't what I expected. If they can't do that, make a good 2D sidescroller, those are always fun, but mix it up with some touch screen puzzles.

Age of Empires II would be neat, and no turn based stuff, a nice 2D RTS would be great.

I'd like to see a World Of Warcraft shell that you could do basic crafting type minigames and possibly fish, that allows you to upload your items after finishing into the Core Game. Also if you were near a WiFi spot it would allow you to browse and use the auction house and chat with people on your Realm.
Replace WoW with any major MMO. Cha-ching!

Earthbound remade in 3D on the DS, maybe some updated sound (And not a crap rehash for sound like they did for Mother 1+2). Golden Sun 3, dammit! How about a New Super Mario World, but instead of making it not too grand like New Super Mario Bros., actually do something good. An ORIGINAL Guilty Gear game (That didn't have lame controls and music from other games), and maybe a ton of other 2D fighters. IKARUGA PORT. A GOOD Kirby game (Squeak Squad is a disappointment). 3D Chrono Trigger? :D? Please? I WILL GIVE YOU A CHERRY FOR A 3D CHRONO TRIGGER!

FIRE EMBLEM. NOW.

Although the game itself was by all accounts crappy, I've hoped that Hoshigami Remix will start a trend of obscure PS1 RPGs being slightly upgraded and ported to the DS. There are plenty of great ones that are all but forgotten due to a mix of time and ebay greed.

I've also been desperate for a sequel to Pokemon Snap, although, even for how well it would be suited to touch-screen controls, it would probably be even better suited to the Wiimote.

An Oddworld game would be amazing on the DS because of the complex command system. Top screen shows the action, touch screen displays a list of commands for subordinates. No more accidentally sending blind Mudokons into a meat saw thanks to hitting the wrong combination of buttons when all you wanted to do was get it to turn a wheel.

SUPER SMASH BROTHERS. Seriously, it would sell over a million systems if it had uninhibited online play and a cast of characters partially different from Melee and Brawl.

Fresh Games (subsidiary of Eidos, I believe), if it isn't defunct or owned by Sony, could make a great resurgence on the DS. Stuff like Mr. Mosquito and Mad Maestro would be perfect for our quirky-concept-friendly handheld.

Unless I'm mistaken, I could have sworn that Tao's Adventure was the sequel. Or semi-sequel. Whatever the case... It's probably best to pretend TA never really happened. It's kinda blah.

Ive been lurking here for 3 months now and if anything made me wanna make an account its this.

The only game that deserves a DS franchise is SPLATTERHOUSE. It would take on a similar make over that New SMB did and use the same people responsible for SPLATTERHOUSE III. Also there would be bonus stages that would be a rail shooter similar to touch of the dead.

I'd like to see a version of guild wars on the ds. It wouldn't take much work to adapt it so you could play through an entire campaign offline but still be able to connect on wi-fi for the team style play from the original. It'd need to use cel-shaded graphics witch would probably suit guild wars pretty well anyways.

I would like a new side scrolling Mario. Yes, this isn't much of an adaptation but I feel it could work. Instead of upping the graphics, I would like to see the game go back to the original 8 bit style. The colors would be much more vibrant on the DS with its high quality graphics card and besides, who doesn't love the original side scrolling gameplay!?

Another game I would love to see on a handheld is Skate, the new skateboarding game on Xbox 360. The control scheme is so simple that the "flickit" controls could easily be put onto the DS screen. The only problem is that Skate has such a complex physics engine that it would be nearly impossible to put on a handheld. Oh well.

A top down shooter (Raident Silvergun, Ikaruga, Raiden) style game that just blows the crap out of you. The dual screen layout would be perfect.

I agree with a 2D Metroid. Konami has done some amazing sidescrolling work on the DS with the Castlevania series, and I don't see why Retro Studios/Nintendo can't do the same for Samus.

A decent football game. Sadly, since EA took the NFL license, it sucks not having the quality put into the handhelds, as it is into the big consoles. I'd have loved to see Sega Sports try out working something on the DS or the PSP. Wireless handheld superbowls? Co-op tournaments? Sign me up.

The Shining Force series - Seeing that III was neutered by Sega and the Dreamcast and us Americans got screwed over, I think the DS would be a fine system to remake for us fans.

Phantasy Star series - A lot of people here love Final Fantasy, but a Sega was my first 16 bit system and I fell in love with Phantasy Star before FF4-5-6. This would be so sick using the stylus I can already imagine great innovations for the genre and the series if a DS game was made.

These are just a few ideas that come immediately to my head. I know I can write more if I wanted to, but this is a comment, not a blog entry.

Yes! A 2D RTS C&C, StrarCraft or Age of Empires. There’s no need for hundreds of units they can put a 30, 50 unit cap like AOE’s 100 unit cap for the PC.

Boy did I love that game on the PC. I still have it, but it originates too far back in the DOS primordial ooze to work with today's hardware and Win XP. This game has nearly brought me to the brink of building a retro box just to play it...

That and Buzz Aldrins Race Into Space.

This one's easy: I'd love to see a HALO game for the DS, but not a FPS or a Side-scroller, rather, a turn-based strategy game in the style of Rebelstar Tactical Command!

And I agree with Alexisonfire, a NipponIchi game for DS would totally rock, no matter what IP they use!
