Freak out: Halo 3 arrives tonight

So, yeah, we had some fun with the new release list this week, but it's impossible to deny: those of us whose 360s aren't in the shop are super excited about Halo 3's release -- just hours away. You've read the reviews (and the pre-review; our actual review is coming soon), you've seen the good and not-so-good promos, you've even imbibed the soda. But now, it's time to actually play the game.

We wanted to create this post to give you a space to share how you'll be spending the evening. Are you you doing the midnight thing? Are you lining up already and reading this on a cell phone? Are you going to just eat some Chubby Hubby and cry yourself to sleep? Whatever, we just wanna hear about it. Because as of midnight tonight, it's on.

It's so very, very on.

Can't wait to start stomping the campaign on Legendary with the roommate. Been waiting for this ever since I shot up Tartarus gigantic, Gravity Hammer wielding ass a few years back.

Going with friends at midnight and jumping right into some four-player co-op.

It's looking like Halo 1 all over again in such a very good way.

Im heading down to gamestop to pay the rest of my preorder off so I dont have to screw around tonight.

Then im moving my TV and 360 over to a friends house around five o clock and setting up everything.

We then have to go to gamestop at 9 since we have to be inside the mall before it closes. Once we get our games we will ply co-op 3 player all night long till we beat the game, then play multiplayer all day long tuesday.

CANT WAIT. Did I mention there will be beer drinking :)

Me and a few of my friends are camping outside Gamestop soon. we all have it all paid off so we can just get on the fast line, take it home and play. The G4 countdown thing is ridiculous, anyone who cares enough about halo and has a 360 should be at Gamestop in the first place.

I wish I had the time to do that stuff; I'm picking it tomorrow after work. Hell I'm not even sure if I'm even going to pick it up, according to my schedule maybe someone else is going to pick it up for me.

I might play it 1 hour Wednesday and 4 hours Saturday with any luck.

I'll also be smashing through the campaign with my roommate, but later this week when UPS delivers it to me. We can hardly wait, especially since we just bought Sharp's LC-42D64U 42" LCD HDTV. That'll make Halo that much sweeter.

Until then, we'll do what we always do: work, watch some tv, sleep, with some Bioshock/Dead Rising/Metroid Prime 3/Sonic Rush Adventure/Diablo 2/Starcraft stuck in there somewhere.

Personally, I'll be staying at home and watching Heroes and that new Quantum Leap alike show.

Screw Halo 3. I've always thought the series was extremely overrated. I'd rather play Bioshock or Call of Duty 4 or Orange Box, all of which I think are deeper games.

Well, because the thread is to post what you are doing tonight for Halo 3. That's my answer: nothing. And to say Call of Duty 4 and Team Fortress 2 are going to have far inferior online capability and replay value is just a fallacy.

Alright buddy but people are still playing halo 2 today. The amount of hours logged on Halo 2 blow COD2/3 out of the water.

-I haven't tried team fortress, but I am excited.

-Don't put COD4 MP in with Halo MP. It's a joke. When COD4 gives me char customization, level editor and replay, gimme a call. Don't get me wrong I love the beta, and I've been in it for a while, but Halo 3's MP is deep.

I'll be playing Eternal Sonata and Blue Dragon all week though. Never liked the Halo series.

Am i the only one who isn't amped about yet another FPS? i mean yes its cool and all and will probably be one of the best ones but still.. its not groundbreaking.. its not a new genere that will change the face of gaming.. its just another FPS with good graphics... just my $0.02

I'm going to Gamestop around 9 p.m. for a Halo 3 tournament that will last till midnight. Then I'm going to take my copy home and play all night with my buddy over Live. I have to use a lot of my paid time off for work before I lose it so I decided to take this whole week off. Halo 3 everyday till Monday and I'm still getting paid. Awesome.

First I am going to watch the season premier of Heroes, then head over to the local video game theif at 12:00 to get my copy. Me and 2 fellow co-workers to the day off work so we could game up for a solid 8 hours or until we beat the game at which point we will comence our ONLINE ASS WHOOPINGS!! Beware GAME OVER CHUMP is gonna bring the pain!!
