New games this week: Bratz the Movie edition

So, it's a pretty slow week for new releases. You've got Skate dropping on the PS3, that Jackass game is finally coming out on PS2, and Bungie has a sci-fi first-person shooter named Halo 3. We don't know how they slipped the first two past us (were they maybe on Mac?), but if Oni was any indication we're probably going to take a pass. Wow, and they're releasing three different versions? What are you guys compensating for? No, we think the real reason to get excited this week is Bratz: The Movie. Not only is it being released on TWO systems (take that, Halo 3), it's based on a movie and has an incredible shopping engine. That's what we call a triple threat, haters. If you're curious though, we've put a few screens of that Bungie shooter after the break, if you get tired of Bratz. ... Not like that's possible.

Oni was a great game, damn you!
Blue_Falcon @ Sep 24th 2007 11:18AM
Agreed.
Gus @ Sep 24th 2007 2:35PM
Agreed, twice
s256 @ Sep 24th 2007 4:15PM
I also enjoyed Oni.
comtar @ Sep 24th 2007 10:04AM
I know I'm getting my Halo 3 Legendary Edition, and I don't even own a 360... still working on Metroid Prime 3 which so far is impressing me.
And no I didn't buy Halo 3 Legendary Edition to sell on Ebay, I'll get a 360.... soon. Sometime... whenever.... later.... you just wait.
2kings @ Sep 24th 2007 10:09AM
yeah... but bratz comes with a bonus disc!
Fernando Rocker (NDF - Water Ring) @ Sep 24th 2007 10:39AM
I have the reservation for the Legendary Edition and I dont have a 360 fow now. I sold my 360 like a month ago, cause I want to wait and buy it when the 65nm version is available.
I have Bioshock Special Edition still in the box =(
Damn you Red Ring of Death.
vinny @ Sep 24th 2007 10:46AM
@Fernando, so you sold a perfectly fine 360 to wait for a version with a smaller cpu which does nothing for the gpu cooling problems that was already fixed earlier this year and you also bought a game you can't play. Way to go dummy!
Fernando Rocker (NDF - Water Ring) @ Sep 24th 2007 10:54AM
vinny
The 360 that I sold was a replacament that Microsoft send to me.
Its only matter of time... that 360 will get red ringed again, until it become useless.
Why everybody attacks me? =(
ThornedVenom @ Sep 24th 2007 10:59AM
I'd laugh so hard if, by a certain twist of unfortunate events, Fernando buys the very same 360 he sold. XD
Fernando Rocker (NDF - Water Ring) @ Sep 24th 2007 11:06AM
Thorned
That will sucks =(
Fernando Rocker (NDF - Water Ring) @ Sep 24th 2007 11:08AM
By the way... did you check the review of Halo 3 in Gametrailers? Nice.
Ed @ Sep 24th 2007 3:10PM
I feel the same about Dracula X chronicles.
archie91s @ Sep 24th 2007 8:02PM
Yeah, I preordered Halo 3 Legendary Edition and I don't have a 360 yet. I don't know if it's worth the 130 dollars because I really don't care about the helmet, I just want the extra content. I'll probably make at least $200 off of it on ebay, though. I might just end up with the collector's edition and a 360 to play it on.
blooh (CDF - Ass Ring) @ Sep 24th 2007 10:13AM
skate's pretty fun, i've been playing it for the last week
megaStryke @ Sep 24th 2007 10:13AM
Huh... that Dragon Blade game hits this week. That sorta jumped out of nowhere. I wonder what the reviews will be like. The game seems like a fun time, but I want some solid criticism before I try it out myself.
Night Elve @ Sep 24th 2007 10:18AM
Who needs Halo when we can play a Bratz Game.
Micheal82 @ Sep 24th 2007 10:19AM
Bratz: The Movie Game of the Year. That Halo game, Metroid, Mario and Bioshock has no chance of winning now. I'm picking up the limited edition of Bratz: The Movie tonight at midnight. Woot! /end sarcasm.
NATO_Duke @ Sep 24th 2007 10:25AM
I dunno about this Haloz game or whatever its called, I guess I will get Bratz and wait to see if people like the Haloz in a few weeks, maybe then I can get it outta the bargain bin or win a copy at a shakey's pizza toy grab machine.
Justin McElroy @ Sep 24th 2007 10:29AM
I heard you get them with Slurpees.
NATO_Duke @ Sep 24th 2007 12:02PM
Well, then count on me buying slurpees. You other people spending money on these Haloz are crazy!
Colin @ Sep 24th 2007 10:27AM
There was a Bratz Movie?
I have to stop playing games and get to the theatre more often.
blooh (CDF - Ass Ring) @ Sep 24th 2007 10:41AM
unfortunently, it wasn't about bratwurst
WiNG @ Sep 24th 2007 10:28AM
I'll get DDR for Wii if it's good.
I don't have a 360 and would not get one just for Halo, especially not when TF2 is out!!!
Evan @ Sep 24th 2007 11:25AM
I'm also probably going to pick up DDR for the Wii.
Also, CSI Hard Evidence was originally announced for the Wii, 360 and PS3, but I don't see the Wii version in that list.
Word of the street(IDF-Digital Ruler). @ Sep 24th 2007 11:49AM
You should get a XB360 is not just about halo 3 you know, there are a lot of great games for the XB360 right now but well that's your problem.
Cheezeman3000 @ Sep 24th 2007 12:52PM
Seriously, this is a great week for DDR fans! SuperNova 2 AND Hottest Party! Ahhhhh I'm gonna be losing a lot of weight in the next few months...
Neon Jebus @ Sep 24th 2007 10:44AM
So where are the Bratz screen shots?
So the Bratz game is based off of the movie which was live action but they used the characters from the animated series on the cover?
I...I mean...what is Bratz?
Shawn @ Sep 24th 2007 10:50AM
world in conflict and company of heroes opposing fronts for me. I'll finish the fight in a few years when it comes to the pc bargain bin...
Sean @ Sep 24th 2007 10:50AM
I don't know, CSI Hard Evidence sounds pretty enticing.
samfish (MSDF- Nurse Outfit!) @ Sep 24th 2007 10:51AM
I would do the one with the dark blond hair. She's got some goooooooood DSL's on 'er!
Badboy1979 @ Sep 24th 2007 11:04AM
"goooooood DSL's on er" .... ahahahahahahhaha, classic!
Crono (NDF - French Taunting from Holy Grail Ring) @ Sep 24th 2007 11:47AM
Scary.
Even more scary because these are marketed at 8-12 year old girls.
Brandon @ Sep 24th 2007 10:51AM
I think its wierd that neither Kotaku nor Joystiq posted last weeks japanese hardware and software charts, especially given that the PSP was at the top of both charts.
samfish (MSDF- Nurse Outfit!) @ Sep 24th 2007 10:53AM
Probably because of the TGS?
Duh much?
JodyAnthony (VGDF) @ Sep 24th 2007 10:55AM
joystiq is tobias
Sean @ Sep 24th 2007 11:03AM
I just blue myself.
Kevin @ Sep 24th 2007 11:22AM
There's some interesting information in the blurb beside it (unless google translate is really messed up...)
"New model PSP was done bundled, also “FFVII 10th Anniversary Limited” is sold simultaneously, among limitation 77,777 sets, reservation takes and leaves and other than of amount has almost sold completely. It became popularity “of [huainaruhuantaji] VII” and the result height of interest to of new model PSP being expressed."
So, I think that means that the numbers are inflated by 77,777 units, banking on FF7. It'll be interesting to see if the numbers stay the same next week.
JodyAnthony (VGDF) @ Sep 24th 2007 10:52AM
screw Bratz! It's all about Go Diego Go: Safari Rescue this week
ThornedVenom @ Sep 24th 2007 11:01AM
This is the reason why kids buy M-rated titles.
Jerk Face @ Sep 24th 2007 11:08AM
No one has mentioned it, but Kirby's Avalanche was a pretty f*cking great game. I'll download that beast.
Sean @ Sep 24th 2007 11:08AM
I concur.
RedPhaazoid @ Sep 24th 2007 11:35AM
I can't believe I forgot about Bratz! And here I thought there was going to be nothing to go out and get this week. Three cheers for Joystiq!
umm....hello??? @ Sep 24th 2007 11:39AM
although I have the legendary edition pre-ordered, I'll probably buy the standard edition tonight at midnight so I can start playing immediately.
BUY TEH HALOZ!!!!!
ps-
Kirby's Avalanche IS a great game....I think I still have the original version laying around the house somewhere...
also might pick up the sorry/battleship/connect4/trouble for the DS...talk about nostalgic!! battleship on the go ftw!
Word of the street(IDF-Digital Ruler). @ Sep 24th 2007 11:45AM
Crayola Treasure Adventures FTW B*tches!
I didn't know there was a hot wheels game for the XB360.
Onomah @ Sep 24th 2007 11:46AM
Lot of duds on the DS this week. Still waiting for phantom hourglass.
Tim @ Sep 24th 2007 11:56AM
Xbox 360:
* Halo 3
* Marvel Ultimate Alliance Enhanced: Platinum Hits
PC Games:
* Company of Heroes: Opposing Fronts
other than those I see nothing I'm interested in...
and really my interest in MUA depends on what they added...
Mightyelf @ Sep 24th 2007 12:51PM
Note every one talk more about Bratz game thna anything in the list.
Sure some silly game critic will come and say "Bratz is the most popular game in forums".
phil @ Sep 24th 2007 12:54PM

Geist @ Sep 24th 2007 12:56PM
