'Cause he thinks. Since when do people need proof?

By that logic, bluetooth controllers shouldn't work AT ALL because of lag.

It's a Bluetooth receiver in case the PS3's one can't handle 4 controllers, a headset, a remote, and whatever other Bluetooth device you can think of all at once.

Nice theory? :(

According to the manual it is used to connect the guitar to the console. For those that didn't look at the fcc site here it is. https://fjallfoss.fcc.gov/prod/oet/forms/blobs/retrieve.cgi?attachment_id=845509&native_or_pdf=pdf

Nope, because I could say the exact same thing you did, but I'd have no proof of it.

What I'm looking for is some documentation on connection speeds of Bluetooth and whatnot to prove that using such a technology is bad for a guitar.

Here's my theory:

Look at the actual USB plug. Notice the semi-spherical bump on the top common to ALL XBOX 360 USB DEVICES? The dongle may be bluetooth, but since Microsoft refuse to let third partys use their wireless technology (Maybe apart from Red Octane), Harmonix has packaged the Rock Band Guitar with a USB-Bluetooth dongle to allow wireless guitar...ing without needing Microsoft's technology. Didn't anyone notice? (If someone did, sorry I missed your comment.)

you could say the same thing bidoof. there are numerous websites you can visit about bluetooth technology, lag times, pairing, dropped connections, battery consumption, etc., all reasons that i'm sure they chose not to use bluetooth. as for spoon feeding you that info, my time is limited to try and be a teacher.

as for me working for a top developer, i'd rather not prove that on a public board as i could lose my job should i ever say something in passing that maybe i shouldn't have.

curious why you need such confirmation? looking back at your comments on this specific post:

"I'd imagine to save on manufacturing costs, they use the same PCBs for both guitars"

being in manufacturing for 15 years now, the volumes that they'll be pumping out will have an insignificant difference on cost so your comment was incorrect and yet you didn't provide "proof".

not here to start a war, just telling you what i know

That thing is not a charger it is the receiver for the guitar's signal...It's a wireless guitar.
