Some Xbox Live Arcade games get price cuts
Have you found yourself staring at the Xbox Live Marketplace, considering buying Frogger, but with your thumb just hovering over the A button, unwilling or unable to confirm your purchase? "If only Frogger was 300 points instead of 400 points, then I could do it! But right now ... I just don't know." To you, we say this: Stop being so cheap, it's only $1.25. But we also say "Good news! Frogger's about to go on sale."
On Wednesday, The World's Most Squishable Amphibian® and Hardwood Spades will both be cut from 400 to 300 points, while Bankshot Billiards 2 goes from 1200 to 900. If Your Royal Cheapness is interested, you may want to act quick though, the prices will only last until the following Tuesday. Wednesday will also mark the arrival of new content for Bomberman, the "Bomb-Up Pack 2" for 250 points. ... Hmm, sounds like somebody's Halo 3 coasting.

It's nice to see that MS is doing this and all (especially considering this is the second time in less than a month), but neither the line-up or the pricing (1/4 cut off, instead of last time's 1/2) is particularly appealing. Frogger is...Frogger, Bankshot Billiards is STILL too high and Hardwood Spades? I doubt I'll be looking much into it.

Damn, this is gonna hurt Halo sales, wtf was MS thinking?

I don't understand why these price cuts are timed.
Just lower the price and leave it like that until the next cut.

For me Xlive points are like arcade tickets they don't feel like money even when you pay for them they don't feel like it for example 1.25$ is a good if not great price for frogger but I see frogger in 300p (that can't buy crap really except for themes and images) and not 1.25 I rather save those points for later.
BTW Bankshot Billiards 2 900p LOL I will take the Bomberman content and wait for Ikaruga.

I'm all for price reductions, but that it's time limited is somewhat frustrating. This is the second time (to my knowledge) that Microsoft has done this. Just lower the cost of the older titles, and leave it alone! Don't play games with consumers.

400 points is $5.00, actually. It's 80 points to a dollar, so even 300 is still $3.75. I don't know where you got $1.25 from... that's only 100 points.
Rob @ Sep 24th 2007 8:38PM
I think it's because the reduction is by 100 points.....
VSpeck @ Sep 24th 2007 9:50PM
Ah. I was trying to figure out people were getting 300 points = $1.25.
I'd pay maybe $1.00 for Frogger. Probably not though.
