The race is on to hollow-out the Legendary box into a small, pet-wearable helmet. Watch this fan build a human-wearable one from scratch after the break.
Today's one-to-one-scale video: Fan-made Halo helmet

We looked for something unrelated to Halo for our video pick, but eventually just learned to stop worrying and love the bomb. This Spike TV GameHead clip shows Halo fan, Devin White's rough process in creating Master Chief armor. (We'd call it cosplay, but that's like calling G.I. Joe a doll.) White casts molds from his clay sculptures to create plastic, glistening armor and helmets.

It looked pretty impressive. Wish they showed the final product and images that were more than flashes...

This is getting insane! As of right now, my RSS feed shows the latest 20 Joystiq headlines. 8 have the word "Halo," and 1 has "Master Chief." If you guys post one more article about Halo 3 before midnight, I don't know what I'm gonna do. I might just fucking buy it!

I bought the silly helmet edition - the truth is, it's not that small. It's too small for an adult to wear, but it's about the length of a football. The bottom of the thing is filled by a plastic panel with a rectangular hole, so you'd have to disassemble it to actually try to put it on someone's head, but if you were 10 years old, you'd be stoked, because aside from not being able to see out the opaque chromed visor, you'd probably be able to modify it to wear.
I took the thing and left it on my pillow next to my sleeping girlfriend this morning and started singing the signature strains from the theme to 'The Godfather' like it was the horse's head. If you haven't seen the film, sorry for the spoiler.
