Have you seen anything that's been totally awesome today? How about totally rad? Or totally sweet? What if we told you that an object had been fashioned that was not only all three of those adjectives, but required the dipping into the vernacular of the 80s to summon up ... "tubular"? Behold, for this Metroid-based Wii mod is just such an object.
Ramon, of the God of War PSP mod fame, is back with this gorgeous addition to his canon, currently up for grabs on eBay. As with his last piece, a portion of the proceeds are going to benefit Child's Play. So dig down, bid hard, and get yourself a big chunk of awessweetubularad.

Hahaha oh god shaggi, NO.
When will butthurt little fanboys like you finally get that YES we already know that the Wii is not powerful. But you're STILL trying to get people riled up by going "yeah but don't you see? you're lying to yourself!" or some silly shit, but how can you say that when everybody admits it in plain view? How can you say that unless you're mentally retarded? Or a really fucking desperate Sony fanboy? Holy shit dude.
Apparently you just cannot accept the fact that people think there is more to gaming than pixel shaders. There actually is, ohh the humanity! You're like a fucking 6 year old who has to be told the same shit over and over and over before he gets it. Maybe you need to do over primary school, they teach you that sort of thing there.

I'm not talking about power, I'm talking about motion controls s a primary controller. I'm not saying the Wii sucks beacuse of its power, I'm saying the Wii sucks beacuse its a terrible concept and overall platform.

Oh, maybe you should have thought about that before quoting an article that focuses on tech specs, you fucking idiot, haha.
But regardless... what "is" and "what shaggi says" are two completely different things, I hope you realize. The Wii "is" a great concept and overall platform, proven by its commercial AND critical success. The problem lies not with the little white box but with -you-. You are a complete and utter retard. Might wanna see a doctor about that. :)

O.O Can't Nintendo come out with a Wii in a color other than white? I would like a black (or any dark color) Wii to match my home theater, but I don't want to spend the money at colorwarepc.

we all know the wii is two giant enemy crabs taped together to protect the weak points from massive damage.

Geez, I can't believe so many dislike it...it looks a lot better than the ordinary Wiis you see...I wish I had that kind of artistic talent to design a custom look.
Not to mention he's giving 15% to charity.

So if the proceeds are going to charity does that mean this is the first tax decuctable Wii??

you know... i didn't think it was physically possible for a consumer electronics device to be uglier than the halo edition 360...
well, at least nintendo didn't greenlight that abomination for mass production.
wait, is that the space-time continuum collapsing?

First of all, watch the language. I have to say that is the nicest Wii mod I've seen so far. Not digging the controllers however.

It's cooler as art than as a console. I would not want my play-every-day Wii to look like that.

damn, that's a really nice Wii system, just wished these things are produced for mass marketing. Nintendo I'm sure would love to ship some of these...even though MP3 is already out.

In response to Player1 (who somehow managed to make the first post as a reply to some phantom comment), I think that thing on the side of the stand is to keep it from tipping over from the weight of the S logo on the side.
That said, I think it looks great save for the aforementioned stand addition and the green for the controller, although that is understandable since it's obviously supposed to mimic Samus's beam cannon. Would've been cooler if he managed to give it all the fragmented look of Samus's suit (all the grooves running through it and whatnot).

I think its pretty darned neat. If I were to offer a teensy criticism of the design, its the use of that color green. Its more of a silvery-metallic kind of green, as though the gun were comprised of some kind of funky alloy. I guess one could call me detail-obsessive about that.
Good on him for donating part of the proceeds to Child's Play, and a brilliant job on the whole thing overall. He really ought to make a business out of it.
