Morning crazy pill: LaRouche PAC says Halo 3 'destroying US'
There's some good amounts of crazy going on this morning. For starters, Jack Thompson had his son buy the M-rated Halo 3 yesterday; just like he had his son buy the M-rated BioShock a couple weeks ago. But after the whole "sending gay porn into court" thing from yesterday, we just can't be bothered to write about Thompson's kid. What we can tell you is that another one of our favorites on the train o' Planters is stepping up this morning. The LaRouche PAC, who you may recall from the Virginia Tech massacre as working the "video games made Cho do it" angle even though no evidence was ever found, have written an article that should really be taken in pure "lawlz." The article is Halo 3: The 'Third Wave' of Destroying the U.S. -- and let us tell you, totally worth the read.
Now before you go reading it, we highly recommend you not have any liquids in your mouth or they may come shooting out of your nose, and if you're a rager, just try to laugh a little. Oh, also, make sure to read it like Andrew Ryan from BioShock is reading it to you -- it makes a world of difference. For example, try out this line: "For all those individuals salivating about the new Halo 3 video game, ask yourself the question: what is the difference between man and beast?"
The article continues later, "[With Second Life, or Halo 3] either way, the dehumanization process occurs in any instance, by the first-person shooter games' precision to kill another object, or by the adoption of an arbitrary set of anti-scientific, anti-principled rules, like that of Second Life ... The vicious attack on the human mind by this cybernetics cult has been one of the key tricks by the oligarchy, that has arrested the development of the youth, today, preventing any consistent intellectual and political motion to change the world." Fantastical amounts of crazy await those about to read the full article. Enjoy!

Yay! It's been a while since we heard from Nutjob Supreme Lyndon LaRouche!
Noshino @ Sep 27th 2007 9:53AM
LeRoach?...
Jonah Falcon @ Sep 27th 2007 10:01AM
You need to roll a LeRoach to understand LeRouche.
FOXHOUND @ Sep 27th 2007 10:11AM
I don't smoke... will "1 Bourbon, 1 Scotch, 1 Beer" work? I'd like to get the full buzzed experience afterall.
pete @ Sep 27th 2007 10:41AM
It's just too fucking early to be dealing with this bullshit.
FM @ Sep 27th 2007 9:50AM
Ah poor little attention whore.
rockintom @ Sep 27th 2007 9:58AM
Hahaha, this is awesome. I was about to respond with "What about the movies? Are those evil too?", but the next sentence goes on about the immoral Hollywood industry as well. And to say that we're going to become facists for playing this game? Bit much.
Zertoss @ Sep 27th 2007 9:58AM
roflmao The article is hilarious. Cybernetic cult? Sounds like someone has been watching too much Ghost in the Shell or something.
dan stabbingworth @ Sep 27th 2007 1:19PM
The best part is the "literature" he cites as his sources. Classic.
vidGuy @ Sep 27th 2007 10:00AM
I agree with the reported effects but not with the reported causes. A lack of leadership, especially in development, is the reason most "youth" today aren't proactive. That blame lays squarely on the parents' and the government's shoulders.
Crono (NDF - French Taunting from Holy Grail Ring) @ Sep 27th 2007 2:12PM
I think its due to the fact that civics and nationalism haven't been taught in schools since the 70s and 80s.
You know, how to love your country and be a good citizen.
Jonah Falcon @ Sep 27th 2007 10:00AM
I think LaRouche is upset no one's talked about him in ... oh, 20 years or so. Poor forgotten screwball.
When's Ross Perot going to issue a statement about Halo 3?
samfish (MSDF- Nurse Outfit!) @ Sep 27th 2007 10:10AM
Hey, I like Ross Perot.
Sure, he's a bit crazy, but his charts...oh the charts...

I loved that show.
LeRouche Crazy Train? "It Stinks!"
Fernando Rocker (NDF - Water Ring) @ Sep 27th 2007 10:08AM
So Jack and LaRouce are the only archnemsesis of videogames? What a boring characters.
Jonah Falcon @ Sep 27th 2007 10:10AM
LaRouche? Boring? Never. Did you know the British are taking over the world?
FrankTheCrank @ Sep 27th 2007 10:14AM
The only guy I want to shoot is Fernando Rocker.
But not for realz...online of course!
Almack64 (NOF - Ultrazord) @ Sep 27th 2007 10:12AM
Wow I actually thought I was on drugs while reading that. Welp of to update his page on the evil "Ministry of Truth"
MooseMuffin @ Sep 27th 2007 10:26AM
Haha, the reading as Andrew Ryan made that very enjoyable. Thanks for the suggestion.
Matt B (SDF ) @ Sep 27th 2007 10:27AM
Where does this cult get off calling out another cult?
wertt @ Sep 27th 2007 10:31AM
don't forget to read "Sociopath Cheney Glorified in Microsoft's "Halo 3" Shooter-Training Game" while you're there. very illuminating.
J-M-M @ Sep 27th 2007 10:35AM
Are you ser.....
Wait, is he serious?
It's people like this guy who make video games something to worry about. The people not smart enough to tell the difference between shooting a simulated alien and shooting an actual human being. If he (or she, I suppose) were to play this cybernetic propaganda machine, he'd likely go home and kill his own family, immediately. The shock of finishing the fight would be too much for his fwagile wittle mind. F*ckers.
Yourself @ Sep 27th 2007 10:46AM
Okay so: he just blamed the Iraq war on video games. Literally.
Jonah Falcon @ Sep 27th 2007 10:56AM
Comic books were responsible for the Korean War, doncha know.
horngreen @ Sep 27th 2007 11:02AM
I'll agree this country is in a bit of a tailspin but it's not Halo 3s fault. Kids are stupid because the schools suck. Prisoners have air conditioning, food and health care and the taxpayers often don't. We are a 21st century country fighting a war with a 7th century country and meeting in the middle ground, the 14th century won't work. If your kid created some kind of makeshift gravity hammer from a shovel and a cinder block to kill neighborhood pets don't blame Halo, get the kid in a straight jacket!
Shagittarius @ Sep 27th 2007 11:06AM
"If your kid created some kind of makeshift gravity hammer from a shovel and a cinder block to kill neighborhood pets don't blame Halo, get the kid in a straight jacket!"
A straight jacket? Get him to the DoD to develope weaponry.
TheWarden @ Sep 27th 2007 11:04AM
Wow... had to check my address bar... to make sure I wasn't reading The Onion...
Stankus @ Sep 27th 2007 11:05AM
Perhaps Halo 3 will ruin our minds. But, what game was LaRouche playing when he should have been learning how to use a comma? It's as if he has seen a comma before and thought "Hey, I should use that. A lot."
" Are people being inspired in these areas, to conquer the difficult scientific problems, mankind has never been challenged by before?"
Seriously, why the commas?
"The most obvious answer to any thinking individual— is to dehumanize the image of human beings."
Why the dash? Not even a colon is appropriate here.
This guy's punctuation is turning me into 'a psychotic-mass killer'.
The Boo @ Sep 27th 2007 11:10AM
That poor kid probably has no friends.
ill trooper @ Sep 27th 2007 11:11AM
"What is the difference between man and beast?"
Beast was confused by controller's flashing lights indicating 'low battery.' Required my help.
Rubang B (NDF - Heart) @ Sep 27th 2007 11:11AM
LaRouche HATE Euclidean Geometry!
LaRouche, LaRouche, LaRouche is on fire!
We don't need no logic, let the motherfucker burn!
Burn motherfucker, burn!
Lunatone @ Sep 27th 2007 11:26AM
QFT good sir. I hafta give you a high five for that I laughed pretty hard to myself.
mor911 @ Sep 27th 2007 11:17AM
Naturally, gamers cannot be intelligent people. We have to be mindless zombies that simply play games and wait all day long to spend more money on games.
Being a gamer makes you less of a student, scholar, worker, or whatever it is you do. Because games is the beginning and end for gamers.
What a fucking idiot.
Some of the smartest people I know are gamers. Doctors and PHDs that I've worked with and gone to school with. True to life heroes that I've personally served with (when I used to be in the military) and are at war RIGHT NOW are gamers.
Then pricks like this idiot goes and passes judgment on everyone why? Because he is not a gamer. He, like the thousands of other drones out there, needs to blame someone or something for society's fuck ups. His bad parenting isn't this issue... It's Halo (or GTA, or Metroid, or MGS).
To you Mr. LaRouche, FUCK YOU. =)
With love,
The Mor
Tucker @ Sep 27th 2007 11:33AM
Damn, I guess Jack's son didn't go to MY Best Buy... I got carded buying Halo 3. I'm 25. I have a full beard. I don't get carded at the beer store anymore. The teen at the checkout counter remarked "sorry, but we have to card anyone who looks under-30."
As funny as it was having to dig out my ID, it just shows that policy enforcement, just like at the bar or liquor store, is in the hands of humans. I got served underage all the time, and that was a hell of a lot worse for me than teh Haloz!!!
Bryant @ Sep 27th 2007 11:36AM
the difference between man and beast? hmm.. oh. we're so much smarter that it allows us to play video games among other things. :)
Jonah Falcon @ Sep 27th 2007 11:37AM
Bless the manbeasts and the children.
Marc Hannum @ Sep 27th 2007 11:38AM
"The mediocre details of how much money will be made by the immoral computer and Hollywood-related industries, have been documented, by LPAC in several places."
I guess, they don't have editors, over there, at LAROUCHE. ,,,,,,,,
Shinagani @ Sep 27th 2007 11:38AM
I can't even come up with a response- the shear amount of paranoid, bitter, crazy dripping off that page is just too much.
I think I need to sit down, that crap is overwhelming (like sewer stench overwhelming BTW)
Jonah Falcon @ Sep 27th 2007 11:40AM
The problem is, a lot of his writings are about real problems and events... but then he goes all Cliff Clavin and extends it to include aliens and MJ-12.
Shinagani @ Sep 27th 2007 11:47AM
I understand the problems he's getting at but it just reads like "Dick Cheney, Halo 3, Satan" ... and I just... I mean wow.....
Shagittarius @ Sep 27th 2007 11:39AM
Amazing, I haven't heard so much dehumanizing bullshit since I stopped going to church.
Mightyelf @ Sep 27th 2007 11:40AM
Question: Is Nintendo or Sony paying him?
I ask because he never say nothing bad a bout Wii games or Sony games. They take time form young people too.
And Metroid is violent and Zelda too
BobboMJones @ Sep 27th 2007 1:48PM
Oh, he got Nintendo out of the way a good while ago.
http://www.schillerinstitute.org/new_viol/ctte_lar_may20_.html
Mightyelf @ Sep 27th 2007 6:42PM
Oh well, then he has all cover up.
Andrew @ Sep 27th 2007 11:40AM
After reading this, it appears that this LaRouche character has just finished playing Bioshock, because his theory on what is going to happen to US is almost exactly like what happened to Rapture.
Micheal82 @ Sep 27th 2007 11:41AM
This article lost all credibility when he put the VT killing and the Minnisota Bridge collapse on video games. His other comments about how video games turns young adults into psychotic mass killers is far from the truth. AS with VT, the killer didn't even play video games and what about the psychotic mass killers before there were video games. They must of had technology way before theire time.
LaRouche please get a life and try to solve Amerrica's problems instead of blaming video games for all that is wrong in the world. Most of your complaints should be directed at the failing education system which only teaches how to past a test instead of critical thinking skills and how to think for yourself. Also Corporations outsourcing jobs to other countries because its cheaper and they don't have the same labor laws that we have in the U.S. Stop blaming games and look in the mirror and ask yourself what is the real problem and how do I solve it.
Almack64 (NOF - Ultrazord) @ Sep 27th 2007 2:10PM
It pretty much lost credibility with me starting with "Negroponte’s disgusting excrement— Wired Magazine".
Poisoned Al @ Sep 27th 2007 11:43AM
Why do I picture the author of this artical, rocking backwards and forwards, making a screeching sound while smashing their fingers furiously into an unnaturally clean keyboard before going to the park to yell at squirrels?
