Street fighter?, Don’t take me wrong SF was great back in the 90´s but Capcom ruined the game by releasing pseudo-sequels after pseudo-sequels. I mean while games like Marvel vs Capcom 2 and Street fighter vs SNK still feel fresh mostly because Capcom didn’t released sequels (this of course raging fans but keeping the mentioned games in a valuable state) Street fighter feels too tired and unexciting I mean until know they decided to change the effing sprites something that they should have done in the Ps2 and PSP (Maybe PSone).

Still a great game for the xlive maybe if the controls feel ok a must have but nah it shouldn’t be with the mentioned games.

That list was pretty lame. In fact this whole console generation is pretty lame. I now have all three consoles and still spend more time with my PS2 and Dreamcast.

For the record, though, Lost Odyssey, Mass Effect, Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles, and Metal Gear Solid 4 should've been on that list. I do agree that there hasn't been enough Assassin's Creed footage, though. All you ever see is Jade talking about the game. Not that I'm complaining ;)

Well, its odd that they included Mario Kart Wii considering that far less is known about that title than either Assassin's Creed or MGS4

Mass Effect was an odd oversight

The Simpsons arcade, Road Rage, and Hit and Run were good The Simpsons games. and 6 great psp titles? what are they smoking? What about Lego Star Wars II, Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops, Daxter, Jeanne D'arc, X-Men Legends 2: Rise of Apocalypse, THUG 2, the two Siphon Filter games, the two Grand Theft Auto games, Wipeout Pure and many more too superflous to mention?

Screwattack you still do some great filler between Angry Videogame Nerd episodes.

Well that list fails for the exclusion of the orange box, now entirely in my opinion the PSP has at least 20 non-port great games and that’s at least, with that said Silent hill 0 FTW.

Looks like I have to explain further to the awful "mainstream" Halo fans.

Dear
Word of the street(IDF-Digital Ruler),

I hate Halo. Period. I am a 360 fanboy, or whatever you kids call it now.

I always have and will hate Halo, not because it is the cool thing to do, it just has a lame ass story and gameplay is awful.

For something that is so huge, and loved, it is sad that Bungie knows this and allows it to lower their expectations of what they want the game to end with. I mean, why work hard to make a powerhouse game when the fans will love whatever crap they spit out? That is why I hate the series, lack of innovation and gameplay.

I feel bad for the true Halo fans, they are the ones losing out.

Oh, and Lair sucks ass, no way will I ever buy a PS3 you jumping to conclusions fool.

I agree with many of your statements, though perhaps not so vehemently. The story was poor, not because of the story itself, but because it seems Bungie is incapable of communicating a plot through anything but cutscenes. It's cutscene-run n' gun-cutscene-run 'n' gun ad nauseum. I'd like to paraphrase Zero Punctuation's thoughts about Bioshock in this regard: Though it may seem like a fantastic game to console players, for PC gamers who have been spoiled by much better offerings (for example, Deus Ex and System Shock 2, off the top of my head), it's merely a decent game, and at times not even that. But of course, opinions are like assholes etc etc.

And just being an ass by team killing on purpose, I just turned off my 360.. I swear, they're gonna make me quit playing online.

I wonder, does M$ refunds accounts if you no longer wanna play online?

Yeah, that's the funny thing about fantastic technology that connects people in new and amazing ways.

You won't get a refund, but at some point in the future, you'll get a Halo itch that needs to be scratched and you'll head on to Live for some multiplayer.

Not everyone on Live is an idiot, but even the gamers with manners are liable to bore you to death with details from their lives that you don't care to hear.

Im new to Halo, and I find the campaign (or single player mode) to be pretty fresh. A next gen FPS that isn't trying to scare you i.e. BioShock, Doom III. The Halo story seems intriguing and the enemy AI is like nothing I ever faced before. You should give the campaign a try instead of jumping head first into multiplayer.

Commander Keen was so much fun. XD

I can't wait for Contra 4: I know my ass is gonna be floor-leveled with its difficulty level (unless they lied about it being hard), but I hope it's going to be a tremendous love/hate relationship. Add in a few friends, and it's gonna be sweet partying on the DS.

And can somebody tell me how effin sweet COD4 is? I didn't get to play the beta yet, but all I heard was "zomg, modern warfare is great just because it's not WW2" without any real honest mention about the way it's played nor why it's better.

This list sucks! Where's Lair, Warhawk, Uncharted, and best game ever MGS 4. I'm very surprise that none of these titles made it even tho none of them deserve it. Crysis, Turok, and COD4 is so out of place with all these last gen games. And there's no major tech on the upcoming Wii titles to consider them revolutionary. Potential GOTY Mass Effect didn't make the list. This guy lost all credibility.

Cuja, either you posted this as flamebait or you think Wii is last gen. Or you may just be a Play$ellout since it's the general consensus that Lair sucked ass. They deliberately excluded MGS4 BECAUSE it doesn't have a release date. I'm going to reply to this on the off chance that this isn't flamebait.

10] As I said before, the Wii is anything but last-gen. I should know; I have one. While Mario Galaxy doesn't tickle me that much (read: I don't plan on buying it), it sure is impressive for those that it does.

9] I'm not a conventional fighting buff, but for those that are, this remake of Street Fighter 2 might be of interest. Then again, I'm not so hollow as to be a graphics whore, really.

8] You don't seem to think Turok is flame-worthy; I won't comment. Then again, the only true FPS I played happens to be UT2K4, so yeah.

7] The PSP hasn't been so hot; then again, compared to the sun that is the DS, it's hard to compare. Dracula X Chronicles just might give it the helping hand it needs.

6] Again, I have no comment because of my limited FPS experience. But I'm not a graphics whore, as I said before, so no Crysis for me either way. That's two FPSes you seemed to not hate.

5] Just like the PSP, the Simpsons haven't had many good games. The Simpsons Game looks like it might change that.

4] After having played through 64 and Double Dash, I know that Mario Kart has something good going for it. After the success of Mario Kart DS, bringing it to Wii would be a logical next step, and if multiplayer's as hot as the DS version was, look out.

3] JTFC, man, you diss Contra?! That's going to have the old gamers up in arms. It's clear you are a heathen who doesn't appreciate old-school gaming goodness. If you have a console with an archival library available to download (or an emu), download a Contra game NOW and see how gaming goodness used to be; that way you can appreciate Konami's effort to revive that goodness in the here and now.

2] As I said before, I'm not a conventional fighting game fan. That said, I played through Classic, I smacked down Melee, and I'm frothing at the bit for Brawl. As they said, Nintendo's got so many franchises that they made a franchise out of beating up their franchises. And quite frankly, with the following Melee built up and the ability to go online, Brawl will undoubtedly rock the holiday season. And you call THIS last-gen? Your opinion as a gamer no longer counts.

1] You didn't argue COD4; I don't argue about FPSes due to my lack of experience. But this confirms that you are one of two things - an FPS lover or a graphics whore. If you're the former, good for you. If you're the latter, deepen your soul before visiting these boards again.

I forgot that everyone here works with the guys at ScrewAttack and directly influences the opinions of two gamers who happen to produce awesome videos.

A game you were anticipating wasn't listed? Amazing!

The title of the video is "ScrewAttack's Top Ten Games to Buy Besides Halo 3". This isn't "Random Joystiqer's Top Ten Games to Buy Besides Halo 3". Don't know how you made that mistake.

Now, if you said something along the lines of "here's my list", then you're in the clear. Otherwise you're basically trying to discredit someone else's opinion.

Here's an opinion to discredit: over 99.8% of the world's population didn't buy Halo 3. Guess it's not as great as you thought it was.

Also, is COD4 actually really good? I've heard a few people say the beta is pimp. I just thought 3 was so boring and rehashed and assumed 4 would be the same only with better graphics and fancier weapons.

yes, Cuja is high, but still...Cero, so are you.

A few counterpoints

10] "As I said before, the Wii is anything but last-gen. I should know; I have one. While Mario Galaxy doesn't tickle me that much (read: I don't plan on buying it), it sure is impressive for those that it does."

mmm, check the specs, IT IS LAST GEN, and yes, my friend next door has one.

9] "I'm not a conventional fighting buff, but for those that are, this remake of Street Fighter 2 might be of interest. Then again, I'm not so hollow as to be a graphics whore, really."

err, fighting genre fan or not, SF2 is still a classic, and a HD remake should be welcome by any gaming fan.

7] "The PSP hasn't been so hot; then again, compared to the sun that is the DS, it's hard to compare. Dracula X Chronicles just might give it the helping hand it needs."

huh? where did you pull this crap from? let's use facts:

-PSP has more games out than DS right now (313 vs 295)
-The average rating of PSP games is 67.36 compared to the average rating of DS games which is 64.22.
-PSP has 50 titles that scored 80+, DS has 44 titles

*Source: Metacritic

So yah, the "Sun" that the DS has become is due to its cheapness and not its quality as you can see.

4] "After having played through 64 and Double Dash, I know that Mario Kart has something good going for it. After the success of Mario Kart DS, bringing it to Wii would be a logical next step, and if multiplayer's as hot as the DS version was, look out."

Mario Kart was fun for a while, meh, I love Double Dash, they should be making a sequel. But yah, if Mario Kart has the same awful online service as Strikers, then I ll just pass it.

2] "As I said before, I'm not a conventional fighting game fan. Your opinion as a gamer no longer counts."

blah, like I said, if the online service is as craptastic as Strikers, then yah, I rather pass this one too, me and my friends are all spread out, Melee was fun, friends would come over and have some SMB Melee, I can't do that anymore, and besides, Live has set the bar for online gaming and Sony is also supporting online this time around.
