Gran Turismo HD leaving Japan PSN -- Europe, US next?
In apparent preparation for next month's release of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue in the region, the free and beautiful GT HD Concept is going to pulled from Japanese PlayStation Store as of this Sunday, September 30. According to the official page (translation), online ranking from within the game will still be running.
GT 5 Prologue is due out October 26 in Japan, whereas US and European gamers are expected to see it December 13. Will HD Concept also be pulled in these areas? We're not sure -- until we get an answer, we recommend going ahead and downloading the racer just in case.

From what I read in Japanese articles, this is a demo for GT5P, not the actual GT5P, which is also set for December in january through the articles I read.
Basically they are replacing an old demo for a newer one.

I think on the Japanese store, it says the GT5P demo is due out 10/20, so the retail product coming out 10/26 is not out of the question.

might as well download it, it's not like ps3 users have anything else to do with their massive hard drives (lol entendre)
marcandrer @ Sep 28th 2007 2:49PM
well at least the ps3 have a hard drive in every unit sold :P
Mr. P @ Sep 28th 2007 3:06PM
What else WOULD we do with it? It's for content. Speaking of which, on PS3 you can install games to speed up load times. Not too shabby, right?

Yeah, I totally know what you mean. PS3 owners have nothing to do on their systems, well, except for that whole playing games thing. It's not like Xbox 360.
Wait, I have an unopened copy of Halo 3 just staring at me, waiting to be played. Too bad my 360 is at Microsoft's house getting repaired and shit. Fifth time...
You know what, you're right. PS3 isn't like Xbox 360. PS3 works...

"In apparent preparation for..."
I misread this as 'In arrogant preparation for...'. Even when I scroll up and read it again, I can't help the word 'arrogant' jumping into my mind.
I think Sony have been brainwashing us all. Into thinking they can't do a single thing right. It's working, too! :(

Diabolical!

I think they've taken plenty of bumps and bruises over the past year. Now their in third place. They just got served some humble pie. They don't have much to be arrogant about anymore.
They ruled SOLIDLY for two generations. Now Nintendo is back on top.
FrankTheCrank @ Sep 28th 2007 2:29PM
Does this mean that their going to delete GTHD from my PS3's drive? I hope not.
If they delete GTHD from PSN, put GT5P up instead, it's not much of a loss, considering how much better GT5P is going to be.
Killjebus @ Sep 28th 2007 2:35PM
Who cares if they delete a 1 car 1 track demo running on the GT4 engine in HD. When the GT5P demo releases, why would anyone want the HD demo? I know I wont.
Thank the Lords of Kobal for Japanese accounts.
marcandrer @ Sep 28th 2007 2:51PM
you obviously didn't play GTHD cause there's like 10 cars in the game. Yes there's only one track but with 2 modes which is pretty awesome for a completly free game.
Killjebus @ Sep 28th 2007 3:02PM
Only 1 car on the track. No other cars at the same time is what I meant.
And it is actually 20 cars.
FOXHOUND @ Sep 28th 2007 2:55PM
This is good and great... but where's GRAN TURISMO MOBILE, Polyphony? :p
Mr Khan @ Sep 28th 2007 4:50PM
In the same mystical realm as Oblivion PSP, Sadness, PSO DS, Duke Nukem Forever, Too Human, and the Easter Bunny

Way to have all the facts wrong Joystiq. December 13th is the release date for GT5: Prologue in Japan. October 26th is the release date for the demo of GT5: Prologue. A date for either the demo or final copy of GT5: Prologue has not been announced outside of Japan.
In short. After Sony removes the FREE copy of GTHD from PSN they will soon replace it with a FREE copy of the demo of GT5: Prologue.
