"We'd kind of like to swing the Wiimote like a baton, but we aren't sure if that'll happen."

Could you imagine the meeting?

"Ok, we have this new motion-sensing controller for the Wii, and we want to make a classical music game."

"I've got it!! Use only buttons for directing, no motion at all."

"Brilliant! Meeting adjurned!"

If Bandai Namco does NOT put motion sensing for conducting and playing the violin at least, then they are idiots.

I love the Nodame Cantabile Anime and Live Action (I haven't read the manga). If you like classical music AT ALL, you should look into the anime or live action.

I can see how violin could work with motion controls, and I can see certain instruments like the flute or french horn being played with the Wiimote, but the main characters in the anime are primarily piano players, so I don't know how you could implement an 88 key piano with the Wiimote. Otherwise, being a fan of the anime, I hope they TRY to make this game good.

I'm hoping they have some sort of support for midi keyboards or digital pianos that you can attach via USB. That way it'll be somewhat like Konami's Keyboard Mania! I'd play that game all the time =)
