He did a pretty good job with that.
shadow024 @ Sep 28th 2007 12:22AM
Yes, yes he did.
LAZoftheTamarinds @ Sep 28th 2007 12:30AM
This was... EPIC. This guy has some SKILLZ. Would love to know how to play that... or at least play the basics on a guitar. Good job to the guitarist!
Moofree @ Sep 28th 2007 12:39AM
A true Guitar Hero.
coarse.sand @ Sep 28th 2007 12:44AM
Reminds me of Dr Wily & The Robot Masters, awesome metal band from here in Ottawa that did 8-bit game themes.
flameofdoom666 @ Sep 28th 2007 12:56AM
Simply amazing!
Matt_M @ Sep 28th 2007 12:57AM
This is my favorite Mega Man tune. Even if MM2 had the better all around soundtrack, that intro literally gives me chills.
(I once heard a remix that had the A section of the piece on acoustic guitar. That was wonderful)
flameofdoom666 @ Sep 28th 2007 1:12AM
Simply amazing!
Bluebrake @ Sep 28th 2007 1:22AM
Sometimes it takes someone with a badass guitar to make you realize how hard the Megaman theme rocks.
This is a universal truth.
He needs to get a full band behind it and put it on OCRemix or something.
dxtrinc @ Sep 28th 2007 1:29AM
i just want to know if thats a real ibanez or a knock off
Savok @ Sep 28th 2007 2:11AM
You guys haven't heard the Mega Man Project X then
http://www.projectxweb.com/
bounchfx @ Sep 28th 2007 2:28AM
seemed cool at first, but after listening to the butchered versions of most of the songs I lost interest and respect for them
Gambit @ Sep 28th 2007 2:36AM
I've heard better remixes on OC Remix.
DeadPlasmaCell @ Sep 28th 2007 9:23AM
What!? "Project X" and no Mega Man X stuff? Good day sir!
Raikage (NDF - PK THUNDER RING) @ Sep 28th 2007 2:12AM
Never played Mega Man 3 but... WOW!
Chris @ Sep 28th 2007 2:16AM
It's also worthwhile to note that minibosses did a full megaman2 cover:

Rubang B (NDF - Heart) @ Sep 28th 2007 3:23AM
I love the Minibosses so hard. I lost my glasses getting hit in the face while drunkenly stage-diving during their Contra at a show in L.A. one time. It was totally awesome. They definitely do the best Mega Man 2 as well.
I recommend the Advantage as well. They're not as superhardrocking live (in fact they're totally boring live), but their albums are recorded as magical flawless perfection better than anything.
GregZ @ Sep 28th 2007 2:24AM
Now if he could just do the Wily Music from Mega Man 2 or the Zero final battle music from Megaman X2 we'd be in business. Somehow I don't think my acoustic guitar will cut it for this one.
Ajguy @ Sep 28th 2007 2:54AM
Man, that was pretty sweet!
SHAUN @ Sep 28th 2007 6:29AM
to the guy who wanted to know if its an ibanez, no its not, its not a knock off either, its an ernie ball musicman john petrucci model
also this was alright but the guy needs to relax a bit, his playing was so rigid, looked like he was struggling a little to play
Matt B @ Sep 28th 2007 9:49AM
Petrucci is a god. and you are right, he played like he was really nervous about doing it.
0ldb0y @ Sep 28th 2007 7:49AM
No wonder he's originally called "Rock Man"
Now THAT is how you start a Friday morning!
Obie @ Sep 28th 2007 10:35AM
Ha! Loved it! Great stuff.
Ranko @ Sep 28th 2007 11:13AM
I've heard this song played many times before but this one of the best interpretation of I have ever heard.

I would totally be on board if they made a GH: Mega Man Edition.
Sean @ Sep 28th 2007 12:07PM
And for a sweet video game cover band, check out Powerglove. http://www.myspace.com/vgmetal
Not to mention that The Protomen are excellent. Original video game themed songs ftw. http://www.protomen.com

arrrgh @ Sep 28th 2007 1:53PM
that was kinda painful to watch...but there's potential if they keep practicing :)
arrrgh @ Sep 28th 2007 1:51PM
some of those bends were pretty painful, but kudos to the guy for going through the effort! good job :) still a sweet assed song
Dario Montanino @ Sep 28th 2007 7:32PM
Thanks for watching the video guys! most of ya liked it, some didn't. Everyone can't be happy. More videos to come! Thanks!
jynxycat @ Sep 28th 2007 10:28PM
minibosses ftw.
nuts to this guy :P
Aberu @ Sep 29th 2007 2:02AM
This guy was okay, and minibosses are overrated guys.
Powerglove FTW (http://www.myspace.com/vgmetal)
The Advantage FTW! (http://www.myspace.com/theadvantage1)
The OneUps (http://www.myspace.com/theoneups)
The Kode (http://www.myspace.com/thekodesecret)
Year 200x (http://www.myspace.com/year200x)
VertexGuy (http://www.youtube.com/user/vertexguy)
All of them are so amazing, yet Minibosses get mentioned everywhere, why?
Utils @ Sep 30th 2007 12:04PM
On the Internet, the word "overrated" means popular. So what you are really says is,
"This guy was okay, and minibosses are popular guys."
Utils @ Sep 30th 2007 12:08PM
LOL! I just checked Urban dictionary and the second definition matches what I was saying!
A word which recently has been used liberally as a way of discrediting something without having to give a proper justification, most often when someone finds they have a disliking for a popular phenomenon and is resentful of those who embrace it. Often used by anti-trendies.
(Something loved by many) is completely overrated.
Aberu @ Sep 30th 2007 4:10PM
So you proved that is what I meant by overrated by linking urban dictionary? Good job with that.
To counter, I actually did provide reasoning for why I think that minibosses are overrated, listen to all those other bands, then listen to the minibosses. Listen to each of them live as well, check out youtube for that. The Minibosses are very inaccurate, make mistakes much too often, don't add anything creative to the songs they cover, and cover only the most obvious titles to cover. The Advantage are incredibly accurate, and are a sort of college tradition band, where members come and go, and will continue to come and go, when all the NES games have at least one song covered from each. The Kode have background in music school, are legitimate players of their instruments trained in jazz, fusion, etc... and delve into virtuosity often within their versions of the music. The OneUps accurately interprete game music into Jazz very well. And Year 200x is all about heavy metal, and they are extremely accurate, fast, add to the music, creative, etc...
I didn't really want to waste time saying all that, but if I said that, would you have referenced your silly urban dictionary to prove a point?
bumbleboo @ Sep 29th 2007 5:10AM
where can u download this song. Or someone put up a like to the myspace page with it if there is one
Utils @ Sep 30th 2007 12:02PM
The LAST thing this guy should do, or not do AT ALL is put this in that cesspool called OC Remix. The Signal to noise ratio on OC Remix is appalling. I downloaded their torrents so fat and I'm sorry to say this but 70% of the music was garbage, 20% was okay, 5% good, and 5% was DAP worthy.
Also, if you're an artist they force you to Add OC Remix to your song title. FUCK THAT.
Oc Remix is like YouTube. There are better way to do it, but people submit because it has the eyeballs/ears. There are much better sites than youtube (blip.tv) or OC Remix (jamendo). You just have to be willing to work harder to get an audience.
I say it's worth it.
