We know Sony probably has a new PS3 model in the works, but this is just plain ol' silly. Could the left-for-dead 20GB PS3 be making a triumphant return from the grave? If EB Games' website is to be believed, it could seem so as the retailer lists the stripped-down model for only $450, which is about $50 more than the rumored 40GB unit.
Most likely, the company is trying to burn through some of its old stock or it's just a mistake, but hey, if you really need a cheaper PS3 right now, why not take the plunge?

i know im nobody but .. i have it on a good source that these 20 GB units had been held for the holiday season .. i see gamestop doesnt think they need to do that anymore ;) or they cannot afford to not make the margin should there be another drop in price turning this version into a SUB $400 ps3.

****TIP**** Is Blu-Ray group is doing a new promotion with different movies? I just saw that it is from 10/1/07 to 1/31/08 with movies like Pirates of the Caribbean 3 and Superman Returns. Also they are listing the new ps3 model CECHG01 on the rebate coupon.

It's just missing the wireless B/G (since it still has bluetooth), chrome finish (the shininess), and something else (I think it was the card reader). Depends on how much $50 is worth to you, but definitely a good deal once they run out of 60GB and before a new SKU comes out.

Those are much better movies. Good work. Too bad I bought my PS3 before these deals went in effect.
By the way, I have a 20 GB PS3. I live in an apartment so my internet connection is not to far from my tv so I figured I would just wire it.
If you have the choice between wired and wireless I would reccomend wired (even with the 60GB). I can download the average demo in about 12 minutes.
The only thing I miss is that chrome trime.
Does anyone use the media slots in the 60 GB version?

@ andy, i do use my media card slots but only the memory stick pro duo one.
i rip dvd's to an .mp4 file and transfer them from the computer to the ps3 with a 4gb stick.
other than that...no. (a usb card reader which i have about 4 of would've probably done the trick anyways)
and on another note...since i have a movie collection on my ps3
s hdd, i've noticed that i've used over 60GB of space already (with music, demos, videos from PSN, and DVD's ripped)... if i hadn't upgraded to a 160GB HDD...i'd be upset.

I use the media slots mainly the SD card reader, its easier then having to transfer from my digital camera than through the USB and a PC (never actually tried directly. but I imagine I would need to leave the camera on)
I used CF a couple times too. I think it was worth it. wireless is a nice feature, it only costs Sony I heard 7$ to put it in, and I would much rather pay 7$ for something I may not use then chance paying 100$ for it. call it insurrance

I use all my memory slots nearly all the time (even the CF slot!) My Mom, Dad,and I all have different cameras so I slap everyting into the slots; mostly to show off to 360 owning friends.
Speaking of showing off to 360 owning friends, I also use the WiFi in my 60GB unit because I haul it over to other peoples houses for some Resistance downtime or to show off Motorstorm, Folklore, et cetera. It's alot easier to just scan for their router than to track cable across their house. (some have pretty big houses!
