Luckily for us, we have footage like the above clip. Just make your fingers into a gun shape and go to town. You don't have to pay any money and (best of all) you don't have to keep yourself from staring at Chunky Brewster performing his Slurpee rehydration.

My problem with arcades is this:
You go in, 50% of the games suck, at least to you.
All of the good games are filled with 2 kinds of players:
PROs
SCRUBS
I am no pro but I know what I'm doing on most games. So I don't want to play vs the pros who know every damn combo, and whom I have 1% chance of beating. I don't want to play against to totally horrible people because I feel bad ending their games slaughtering them. and I don't want to play against the computer.
that's why home online PC gaming or XBL is better, I can play against people I know are close in skill, or play ranked matched games say in Guild Wars, and get paired agaisnt people with similar records.
I don't want to pay 0.25-1.50 a game to either get owned or hurt someone's feelings.

That happened to me every time, a good example Marvel Vs Capcom 2
I used to play that game every chance I had and just when I was about to defeat the last boss all these f*ggets get out of nowhere to challenge me without permission, they inserted the coins and defeat me pretty quick without saying a word and kill the boss in a blink just after spending 4 coins, those little b*tches.
I had to A) Put tape when nobody see me so I can play solo or B) Act Badass
But don’t think you are safe from them in the xlive, Achievement and leader board whores are still screwing online gaming, for example in Halo 3 the spam bots in Ranked Team Matches.

Just watching that..my god. It looked amazing. I really wish that the arcade market here in the states hadn't died so long ago. I would be thrilled if somehow, it was resurrected with an insurgence of new and awesome arcade games and actual arcades opening up country-wide.
Will probably never happen though, and with games like this, too bad.

It's... it's obviously a spinoff. Every popular series has spinoffs.
If they had released this on consoles and called it Silent Hill V, yeh, you would have a point, but this is essentially the Mario Golf of Silent Hill.

ZOMG Torrent PLS!! Better yet port it to the Wii!!! It prints money!!!
BTW speaking like a total Silent hill fan what's with all these House of the Dead rip offs? I mean Resident evil chronicles and now this? , what’s next fatal frame? Actually a Fatal Frame rail shooter would be awesome.

So the arcade cab would have the camera obscura attached to it?

Yeah, we played this game in Japan. It sucked. A lot. It's too action-y to be Silent Hill, but not action-y enough to be a good shooter. So it fails at both.

Well that's a dissapointment. I was expecting it to be a decent light gun game which would then release onto PS2 and PS3. Oh well.

I hate to say it, but Silent Hill: The Arcade is utter garbage. Andrew Yoon and I played it at an arcade in Tokyo shortly after TGS. Not only does it fail spectacularly at being Silent Hill(because it's a lightgun game!), it fails at being a lightgun game (because it's Silent Hill!). It's a plodding mess.

I saw this Silent Hill game in Japan in August, but didn't play it because it was always in use and looked boring. I just stuck to my Taiko Drum Master and my Pop 'n' Music Adventure, since I knew I'd never get to see them back in the states. But on the other hand, I saw this... a Half-Life 2 arcade game?!?

I hope Konami bring this to the PS3 or 360 seeing as Namco Bandai is bringing Time crisis 4 to the PS3. I really would like to play this so I hope the game will get ported to either of those two systems or both.

i'm a huge slient hill fan, but this doesn't look fun at all infact it looks boring.let me get this straight, you shoot pyrimid head with a thousand bullets, which has apparently no affect, what so ever, so that every 60 sec. you have to put more coins in? seems like a scam by the arcade IMO....come on kids it's silent hill! just pour in your coins! the game seems pointless you might as well have a water gun..
