Here's a fun game to play: try to add up the total amount you've spent on Tetris games in your lifetime and don't forget about that $5 iPod version either. We'll give you a minute ...
... done? Good. So we understand why some of you may have been hesitant to drop $30 on the budget-priced Tetris Evolutions when it came out for the 360 earlier this year. If you held out, your reward is the just announced (but long known about) Tetris Splash, an XBLA version of the classic block-dropper featuring multiplayer support for up to 6 players. Oh, and a virtual fish tank. For 800 Microsoft Points ($10), we just may be able to justify yet another Tetris purchase. Maybe ...

Considering the last time I actually "paid" for Tetris was back when it came with the Game Boy, I think I'll have no qualms in picking this one up.

$10 bucks? For this tetris?
Honestly EA's tetris mania for my cell phone has a better art design then this and it was only half the price.

I love tetris. I will certainly buy this. This is one game I'm still addicted to, one game where the high score is the ultimate goal that I am not totally sick of after a month. I loved the 30 dollar tetris game that I bought before for 360, but I admit after I got the achievements I quit playing. I'm actually really happy to see this. I wish we would get a port of the Arika version someday. (tetris grand master challenge or something like that- japan only.)

Yes, that "First!" game is so thrilling, isn't it?
You post as fast as you can, and maybe you'll BE the first!
Fun!
But if you lose, there's no way to retract your bet, so to speak!
Wow! What a rush!
Look stupid posting 'First!' ...or look stupid posting 'First!' when you're not even first. In the immortal words of the WOPR from 'WarGames': "A strange game. The only winning move is not to play."

I think you're missing the point. the real trick is to wait until at least 5 people have posted. It has its origins, as many things do, in satire. Sick of the 'Firsting' going on in so many widely read blogs, I decided to pose as an excited fan with a rather disappointing connection speed. The irony amused me, although I dare say I am alone in that respect. And so, feeling rather bored this evening, I decided to engage in that old pastime, to see whether or not this practice would be picked up on. Evidently, it has, and while I apologise for any inconvenience caused by my antics, I do not intend to stop.
Good Day!

Let's take your little thought game further. Considering how many versions of Tetris there are and how long the game has been around, I'm sure the number of unique players is astronomical. Let's say 100 million for fun, it's probably more than that. Now let's assume that the average Tetris player puts 10 hours in to the game during his or her entire life. That's probably on the low end, too.
That's 114,155.25 years we have wasted on that damn game.

It's weird that they have that old 'backward-compatible' Xbox logo in there... I wonder what that's for. But I'm not so full of wonder that I want to spend $10.
Still, if you want tetris, and it's certainly proven itself to be a good value, here you go.

Six players? Pfft, Tetris DS supported up to 8 players!
(Granted, that was for only local multiplayer, and online was limited to 4P, but still... This should be able to match or beat that)

This has little chance of rivaling Tetris DS. It looks alright visually, but I doubt it will, for instance, have Push Mode, which I find to be far more interesting and interactive a multiplayer mode than normal Tetris multiplayer. Not to mention the fact that Tetris just makes more sense on a handheld.

Tetris Evolution was absolute garbage. The controls were so unresponsive compared to Tetris DS, I couldn't play it.
I'll be picking this up for sure.

The only version of Tetris I have bought was Tetris Zone, mostly for the sexy voice in it.
