Universe at War bumped to 2008
If you're a PC gamer looking to fill the gap in your soul until Starcraft 2's release in Who Honestly Knows of 200?, you might be disappointed to hear that sci-fi RTS Universe at War: Earth Assault has been delayed from November into January 2008. The delay does come with a silver lining though. The game supports cross-platform play between 360 and PC, and this delay puts the two releases closer together. Maybe this means 360 players won't be beaten as badly by their PC counterparts.
Also, the delay means a few more months of peace for the universe, and isn't that what we're all really working for? Of course it is.

Yeah, that one is just sloppy. How the heck to they expect to get satan's attention with that?!

I, for one, welcome our peaceful universe.

my agenda never has, and never will include a peaceful universe. Chaos and destruction fuel sorely needed changes. Plus, I'm bored.

I wish they'd just give up on the cross-platform play nonsense altogether. Maybe they'll surprise me, but I smell another Shadowrun...

First!
Got in before the fanboys!

The closer its release to Starcraft, the less likely I am to even consider it.

Although I was looking forward to this game, The more games that get pushed back the better at this point. With Company of Heroes Opposing fronts, Supreme Commander Expansion, and World In Conflict, there is plenty of RTS goodness to go around.
So long as UiW doesn't delay towards Starcraft 2's most likely Holiday 2008 release, which looks to be the biggest game of the century hands down.

This sucks, I was really looking forward to playing this game later this year.

Well, you can always take a look at World in Conflict. I recently bought it on a whim (without checking up on the reviews) and throughly enjoyed it. And then I read the reviews. It's an editor's pick on just about all the major review sites.

Aww crap, there goes any hope of my having a PC game worth playing anytime soon :(
At least Unreal is coming out this year? Please? No more setbacks to this holiday gaming season? I couldn't take it, I would die...

Orange Box comes out in 9 days and if you pre-purchase it off Steam you get to play the TF2 beta right now.

I never liked the Half Life / TF series of games, not my cup of tea, but thanks anyways.

You're better off playing Homeworld 2 on a nice rig at full specs.

According to PlanetCNC, only the Europe release date was pushed back, and the US release is still on track.
Shawn @ Oct 5th 2007 9:15PM
This story is wrong. The Universe is still coming to the US in November, it's only the European release that's pushed back.
