M$ is peddaling poor value. $400 PS3 looks great in comparison to any 360...I own none of these systems but have been carefully weighing the pros/cons of all assuming there will be some more pre-holiday price cuts. Here's what I have so far.
PS3-WiFi, HDD, HD movie playback, free OK online, OK games
360-Great games, great for-pay online. If wifi matters $100, if you want HD movies add another $180.

IF these things are important to you suddenly the $350 Pro with only 20GB is pushing $600 whereas the PS3 is still only $400. To further complicate pulling the trigger I can't help but wonder if PS3's online for free is worth anything compared to XBOXLive and has the 65nM chipset (that may or may not have arrived) solved the high failure rate of the 360?

It may be an easier sell for my wife for a PS3 for HD movies and built-in browser/wi-fi and no continued expenses for online gaming for me to just get the PS3 but then what FPS will I have assurances of finding people for multi-player frag fests? Surely no game can guarantee that like Halo 3 can.

So, Sony's new sku makes a lot of sense but the Arcade sku gets me closer to just getting a 360 because the price is getting into "toy" territory--i.e. I could just buy it on a whim and not care about anything else that it may do. $300-400 and I need more function to justify the purchase...for buyers like me, and I'm a rare bird, more skus, especially value skus, make the products far more tempting...so kudos Microsoft and Sony for giving me choices. Oh, and Nintendo (Wii) doesn't need choices because clearly they're in toy territory the way their console is STILL not to be found sitting on store shelves!

Well, seems to me this is a pretty good little setup. The primary reasons I didn't like the Core were, A. wired controller, and B. inability to save games out of the box (due to the lack of a memory card or HDD).

This is a great beginners setup... aside from upgrading the cables for better video/audio, this system is ready to go right out of the box. If this bundle sticks around, I might have to bite next year.
