One of our favorite films is getting the video game treatment ... just 20 short years after its initial release. The Hollywood Reporter is, well, reporting that Worldwide Biggies (we haven't heard of them either) has entered into an exclusive deal to produce a game based on Rob Reiner's The Princess Bride.
Now, before you start imagining stabbing the Six-Fingered Man with your Wiimote, you should know this sounds like a distinctly casual product. A sample will be included with a 20th anniversary DVD of the film this year, followed up by the release of True Love and High Adventure -- The Official Princess Bride Game in the spring. If this tells you anything, the game is currently not planned as a retail release, but rather as a downloadable title. Inconceivable!

No, RedJoggingSuit, it means I've watched the movie that many more times than you. "I do not think it means what you think it means" is the response Inigo gives to Vezzini after one of his utterances of "Inconceivable!" I believe it's after Vezzini notes that the man in black is catching up to their boat.

Actually, it was when Vizzini exclaims that the man in black's ability to climb the cliffs of insanity was 'inconceivable' (Inigo and Vizzini are at the top of the cliffs, looking down).
Still, you were mostly right. But mostly right is still slightly wrong.

Making a game for this movie has to be one of the classic blunders, much like never going in against a Sicillian when death is on the line.
Man, I love this movie, though.

What, you're shocked by this rerelease? Look, geeks love The Princess Bride. And as shown by Star Wars, The Lord Of The Rings, Monty Python, Pirates Of The Caribbean, Superman, and a few dozen anime series, you can make tons of money by repeatedly rereleasing stuff geeks like.
It's about as shocking as, well, anything Vezzini calls "Inconceivable!"

The game will consist of you playing an ancient baseball sim while a voiceover of your grandfather tells you the story of The Princess Bride.
