Damn, I just learned how cheap DSes are in States. I just bought a DS as a gift for my girlfriend for 130 euros/185$... and that's the cheapest I have seen.

That's what I used to ask around with when I was trying to find a copy yesterday. There's really no point in asking people about the "Phantom Hourglass" or whatever, when everyone at least has a basic understanding of "Zelda" and "DS"

I heard that the new crimson/black DS has some LCD issues i.e. not as bright as the original DS lite screens. Any heard anything about this? It's the only thing holding me back from picking this beauty up when it hits the shelves.

#5. I picked up the crimson/black DS Lite last night. The screens are just as bright as my polar white DS Lite.

I highly advise against picking up one of these, unless you are gushing over the color.
Reason being these use the new Samsung screens that are generally lower in quality in a variety of areas than the original Sharp screens that were used in the initial product run.
Issues I have observed between my Euro Onyx and a new US RedBlack - slightly yellower touchscreen, reduced viewing angle, and very noticeable ghosting.

Please disregard my previous comment. After closer examination, there is indeed a difference.
