What was once simply some golden box art now has become hard concrete fact that a Mass Effect Collector's Edition is real. Though, Mass Effect diehards will be a little disappointed to know that this special Collector's Edition doesn't include anything as cool as a Spartan Helmet or a Big Daddy figurine, but will instead come with the standard Collector's Edition offerings. For $10 more purchasers will receive the fiction book "Galactic Codex: Essential", the art book "A Future Imagined" and a second bonus disc featuring the "Art of Mass Effect" and "Interactive Storytelling of Mass Effect" among other goodies. So, nothing revolutionary here, but for Mass Effect fanboys the art and storytelling alone might be worth the extra dollars.

Laaaaaaaaaaame!
Collectors editions are a cash grab. Just give me the damn game disk. I don't want a bunch of crap that I'll never watch. And you people that buy the collectors edition are part of the problem.

What problem? Some people want the extra stuff, some people don't. You have a choice. Don't buy it if you don't want it...

Eh, unimpressed. Couldn't they make a miniature spaceship or a cheap table top game. I feel making-of videos and art books are basics, like unlockables. I won't pay $10 for them when I can pretty much get the same stuff on Game Trailers and Wikipedia.

After buying a scratched H3 Collector's Edition I'll never buy anything "collector's" again.
