And no, not Charisma Carpenter, though, yes, that would be an inspired bit of casting. No, the man behind Gears of War said that the film version of Marcus Fenix should be able to light up a room with his charm ... even if it doesn't look like he could lift a Lancer above his head.
"I get a lot of forum posts where Gears fans tell us we need to cast this wrestler as Marcus. I don't give a f**k if the guy's buff or six foot five," CliffyB. told GameDaily BIZ. "What matters most is that this guy is charismatic and he can act and is somebody compelling that you want to watch on screen. The Rock is the rare exception of a wrestler who is that charismatic that he can carry a movie. If they cast four mongoloid wrestlers in Gears and they're just as exciting to watch as paint dry on the screen, nobody's going to go see it."
The Rock, huh? ... Do you hear that? That's the sound of bloggers across the planet Googling screen captures of The Game Plan.

Why is the ability to act a priority?
It's not like Gears was deep, or had much story depth, or was anything past a bunch of one liners? They just need someone who doesn't drool too much that the set needs too many mops.

Wow, CliffyB sounds like such an amateur with his comments. Did he get that "I care about charisma and that the person is a good actor" out of the 'Producing Movies from Dummies' series of books. Honestly if a Gears movie is to be good, they need to set some story guidelines but then let the damn thing roam free and give some indy director a chance to really tell the story that is Gears. There is so much to the story thats untold, someone really could make a good movie out of it. Whatever the movie will suck anyways.

Seriously, I can't believe no one has mentioned Batista, from WWE Smackdown. Its almost like they modeled Marcus directly around him. I know that probably isn't the case, but its crazy how similar they look. Both big, tall, rough looking, same facial hair. Really, if anyone should do it, it should be him.

Look at the nose of Marcus in this pic. Triple H should play Marcus. He's big and charismatic.
For Dom you can have Batista. And Cole lets say Babby Lashley.
Big guys with talent, good acting and charisma.
And for the girl (can't remember her name), Lilian Garcia!

They need to secure Lester "Mighty Rasta" Speight aka Terry Tate, Office Linebacker, for Cole.. It's just a no brainer.. since he did the voice for Cole and everything.

I think C-B's hopes for another "Godfather" style movie to be coming out of his little shooter. Drama! Action! ACTing!!!... Dang shame his company didn't try that for the actual game.
And for those in favor for Butler. He isn't buff anymore. His next movie has him dead and very.. very thin.

So far, the concensus seems to be that the role of Fenix needs to be filled with someone who is big, ugly, and charismatic.
So just tape two Steve Buscemis together, and you've got yourself a winner.

How about Robert Roode as Marcus Fenix.
I'm not a TNA fan because for the most part TNA sucks, but I think Roode (who is a phenomenal talant)fits the role of Marcus perfectly.
