The gang at Games Radar have managed to revitalize interest in toys we never really used in the first place -- PixelBlocks. Using this LEGO rejects, the gang have managed to recreated classic game sprites from a simpler time in video games. Out of the entire gallery, we have a fondness for Bubble Bobble the most. I've got a Bub on my desk from one of those .S kits they sell in Japan. I've been meaning to pick a couple more of those up, but haven't been by Pink Godzilla in a while.

Haha, strange coincidence. I just ordered some yesterday, my main influence being a pixelblock megaman and super mushroom (http://www.flickr.com/photos/johnwarwick/1331388074/)

You know, Lego now makes sets kind of like this, where you put single-dot elements on a plate to make Lego-based pixel art. None are themed with video games, but if you can't figure out how to make them yourself, you're a pretty lame excuse for a gamer.

I remember this game back when I played it in the '90s. It was an awesome game, although I never managed to understand the gameplay of it!
For some reason, those sculptures make me want to look for the NES game so I can play it again, as I collect them.

I'm so tired of things being made up with NES characters...I love Bubble Bobble, but how about some TurboGrafx-16 love for once. I ordered a set of the pixelblocks to do just that...Bonk here we come!
