KB Toys: DS/GBA games are buy one, get other 50% off
KB Toys is doing a better deal than what we've come to expect from Toys R Us by offering "buy one, get one 50% off" on all GBA and DS titles. CheapAssGamer has lead the way to the savings which can be found in-store only and end Oct. 30.Now the key thing is just finding a store. Beyond that there are plenty of other toy related items part of the same deal (we just happen to focus on the video games). Could be an ideal time to get a little early holiday shopping done. Yup, it's almost that time.

yeah same with mine... but there are other KB Toy Stores which are about an hour away and they sell nothing but junk titles such as Dora the Explorer and Thomas the engine.

Maybe I'll go out and buy a DS/GBA to take advantage of this awesome deal.
Or I'll just keep playing my 360 and forget Nintendo ever made handhelds.

There are no KB Toys here in Laredo, Tx since I was like 12.

Actually, this is not a better deal than the toys r us one, buy one get one half off gives you a max discount of 25% and buy two get one free gives you a max discount of 33%. Nice try though!

Damn, and I just bought Phantom Hourglass last night (which is great thus far).

KB Toys stores always smell like that plastic they make all the inflatable pools/toys out of.

Don't forget the "My mom needs to change my dirty diaper" smell thats seeped into the very floors and racks of the place.

I've heard that the DS severely lacks games.
Sean @ Oct 5th 2007 12:49PM
You have heard wrong, my friend. The DS has a good amount of excellent games, and on top of that, you have the entire GBA library that you can also play on your DS.

That is interesting, because I have heard it still has very few games (last game I played on the DS was kirby). I never enjoyed playing my GBA games on it (it's really top heavy and awkward for that).

If the last DS game you played was Kirby, youve been a bit out of the loop for awhile. The top-heavy Nintendo DS you remember has been replaced with the DS Lite, and there are a decent amount of great games out for the system now, including the just released Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass.

It's too bad KB Toys sucks; they have the worst game selection of pretty much any store you walk into.
jimy @ Oct 5th 2007 1:15PM
can't wait to stock up on GBA games.

So? Right before the KB Toys in my area closed down a year ago, EVERYTHING was 50% off or more. Even then, the selection is very crappy and I wouldn't want to buy any of it anyway. The best deal I got was fifty cents for a 4-pack of AAA Energizer batteries. I would have stocked up on Yugimon boosters if they had any.
Vexorg @ Oct 5th 2007 3:02PM
I'll keep this in mind the next time I need to stock up on licensed shovelware.

This post got me excited. I snuck away from my desk and jetted over to the KB at the Northridge Mall (Northridge, CA). Their selection is INCREDIBLY disappointing. There was not a single game I (or anyone) would want, never mind TWO. No Phantom Hourglass, no Jam Sessions, not even New Super Mario. All they had was Harry Potter, Tetris, a few other unmentionables and Dora the freakin' Explorer. Bah.

Man, this sucks. The only KB store near me doesn't sell video games, and it's just about the size of my living room. It's that small.
They do have lots of cool toys, though. They do well, for what they are.
