Nyko's wireless sensor bar bargain

Been debating this purchase...4 AA batteries for 30 hours will add up to a LOT of money...

Thanks for pointing this out-- I've been considering a wireless sensor bar and this is a great deal!

I finally picked up a wireless Sensor Bar a few weeks ago. The brand is Psyclone and it cost me a 20, but it has a built-in rechargeable batteries, and can be charged via USB. If you've got a projector and your Wii is too far from the screen for the Sensor Bar to reach, or if you're running IR-based scripts in GlovePIE, a wireless Sensor Bar is very handy.

I don't get it. Why would you need a wireless Sensor Bar? It's not like you need to move your Wii often, if ever. Besides it's connected to Wii buy just one small wire, which you can tape to something or twist tie it to keep it neat.

It's also smaller than this particular one. It's practically hidden on my tv. Oh, and it doesn't need any batteries. No dead Sensor bar in the middle of (whatever).

That's my side of the story.

It's for people who use projectors or people who hate how long and tangled the default one gets when you try to take it anywhere.

I just don't see the point for the normal setup. Yeah if you have a projection setup but how many people really use this setup. Also if the batterys kick in the middle of a game then you are screwed.

I had to get one because my cat destroyed the wire on my original bar. Nyko's bar has worked great.

The wider sensor bar means more distance between the left and right sets of LEDs, which translates to more accuracy with the pointer at a longer distance. That's the reason I want one, more than the wireless capability.

Do to my mother worrying about my grades she said I couldn't bring my Wii with to college until after fall break (which is next week) This works out perfectly because I was considering getting a wireless sensor bar so I can just leave the stock one at home and not have to feed and unfeed it through the nooks and crannys of our entertainment system.

There is another market for this thing, which is why I just placed an order. That is, I have a LCD TV, and the only way to get the Sensor Bar in place is to use the stickyness of the Sensor Bar, meaning its permanently in place. So I bought this for travel purposes. I never moved the Wii because of this before. Now I actually can.

I considered Nyko a half-assed thrird party accessory company years ago, but they proved me wrong with the Charge Station for Wii remotes (the only AC powered one I've seen thus far- thumbs up!)

I'm sure this wireless sensor bar is just as good. It would help me so much with travel since I'm the only one in my circle of friends with one (thanks, Nintendo's low production rate!)

I've two TVs and one wii. I've two connectors: one for the HDTV in the bedroom and one for the big but NOT HDTV in the living room.

The Nyko wireless bar has come in very handy in moving the Wii from the living room to the bedroom and out again. We literally unplug two plugs, pick up two things and the wiimotes and that's it.

If we still had the one Nintendo provided (whose wires were eaten by our kitten), we would have probably tripped up on two cats playing with the wires.

Love the range on the wireless and love the long battery life. Wireless sensor and rechargeable batteries! The only way to go.

I'd like to hear how well this works with projectors. My homemade solution, while it works better than the stock bar, isn't as good as the stock bar when used with a normal "small" tv...
